Usually when pre season is approaching, I am absolutely buzzing for the premier league to start. Counting the days away for the 1st set of fixtures regardless of how Spurs are playing the previous season because I always have that sense of optimism that maybe this season will be different, but this just feels so underwhelming for me.
I just have no hope or positivity that anything Is changing from last season. Pre season fast approaching and we still have those cr** players stinking out the squad. Nuno is not suddenly going to wave his magic wand and turn Dier and Sanchez Into a formidable defence. The worrying thing is there’s no real sign of any of them going. The only person linked in the media strongly with a move away is Aurier.
I just got a sense of dread that this Harry Kane scenario is going to drag on all summer and ruin the transfer window for us due to the uncertainty. I have no trust in Levy getting deals over the line to strengthen the side with quality.
This is honestly the most disjointed and uninterested I have ever felt with Spurs which Is sad because I’m such a passionate supporter, but they have sucked the enjoyment out of me this club. You in the same boat? Or are you optimistic?

So you are ignoring the information provided then Don.
As for Lady Gaga concerts, it these extra events at the stadium that will help the club to grow its finances to a fully sustainable level.
What do you think we should use the stadium for when there is no football then? It doesn’t damage the pitch and allows THFC to maximise revenue streams fully.
Where is the problem with that?

Some of our fans have actually lost sight of the fact that Tottenham Hotspur is still a FOOTBALL CLUB, and not just an investment opportunity. This is what 20 years of Levy and ENIC has done to a large section of our fan base, mediocrity has become acceptable and almost the norm.
You would expect the main aim of any owner of a football club, would be to win silverware and put the clubs name into the record books. Unfortunately, the main aim of our owners is to run us organically and at a profit, which almost certainly will not deliver us any trophies in the current climate.
After 20 years of abject failure, I am sick and tired of waiting for ENIC`s master plan to come to fruition (it is unlikely it ever will), these owners have run their course, they have taken Spurs as far as they can, I do not see the point in going round in circles for another eternity, winning jack shiete in the process.

No issue with it as long as the club actually show a level of ambition on the field where it matters, which they never do. The main priorities for Tottenham Hotspur football club under this regime is making sure we sit in the highest net spenders profit table. You bang on about lady Gaga concerts providing our revenue, but it doesn’t provide the revenue to push the club forward with a decent spending budget does it? We are forever balancing the books. Buying this player, but selling that player. Hence why Billy is pointing out that none of the money is actually properly invested. It’s just profit gained from hugely expensive ticket prices and transfers out, then making sure the net spend is as low as possible, meaning we never actually get the players we truly need to push the club forward. I look all the other top clubs with total envy. I wish we had owners that actually wanted success on the pitch rather than off it. It’s filtered down to the fans like yourself, who are completely brainwashed by the notion that Spurs are some 2nd rate club that are not actually expecting success just because we are not Mancity. Like you point out, we are in the top 10 richest clubs on the planet. Well bloody act like it then.

My point has always been you buy the required quality which eventually gives you the success on the field which as a result provides the revenue profits. Winning trophies regularly means more revenue. Buying top players and being amongst the clubs that win trophies means we propel ourselves to elite status. We are a club that seem to think we are elite, yet spend like we are Wigan athletic. Just look at the net spend tables and we are always bottom of the pile. Constantly balancing the books trying to stay afloat. A bit like our shocking trophy record under this lot. Staying afloat and just being part of the crowd, but never actually achieving nothing. Some of us are sick of it and some of us don’t believe in the regime.

I’m so happy I’m not a Spurs fan. Not because they are shiiiit or a caaant club but because dealing with ENIC apologists would probably make me blow my brains out. At least at Arsenal we can collectively agree our owners are scuuum of the earth.
Spurs were one of the founding members of the laughable ESL. That alone is enough to show their owners are only in it for the money. And 1 league cup in 20 years or so shows they have no interest in competing.
It’s unbelievable that any Spurs fans out there would actually defend them

Before ENIC, in the premier league era, Spurs had never come top 6 or bottom 5. Never in Europe. If that aint the very definition of mediocrity then i do not know wtf is?
last 12 years finishing positions:
7, 6, 4, 3, 4, 3, 2, 3, 5, 6, 5, 4. Average 4.3
Yes, we have not won a trophy in this time, and that is an ongoing nightmare, but it is not because we are mediocre or have not had teams of enough quality to do so. We've average 4th to 5th over 12 years, the quality has been there and there are a number of factors that have contributed to us not doing so.
If you are sick of a team coming 4-5th then jog on. If this is abject failure to you then I would suggest most things in your life fail to meet your unrealistic expectations. You are a spoilt unrealistic daydreamer with no appreciation of how a football club work and how a club can compete in the modern football environment.
For reference.
EPL position pre-ENIC 10.5.
ENIC 01/02 to 08/09 av. position 8.5
ENIC 09/10 to present av. position 4.3.
