over four weeks time, I am not expecting many ins or outs, so now up to Nuno to get the best out of the squad. I expect Spurs to be lining up something like this for first game of the season.
Lloris
Aurier
Toby/Sanchez
Rodon
Regulion
PEH
Dele
N`dombele
Lo Celso
Son
Kane
Could be a quite an exciting team that. Lo Celso surely must be on a high after being part of Argentina squad that lifted the South American Cup. N`dombele must finally have got himself fit, having had no International football over the Summer, same with Dele. And we all know what Kane and Son are capable of.
Not saying Spurs are going to storm the league, but surely they cannot be as bad as last season, and 20 dropped points from winning positions will not be happening again. Just hold on to half those points, and Spurs should be there or thereabouts for a Top Four Position. Fancy some strong cup runs as well again.
Very optimistic again going into a new season. That could of course change as the season progresses, but right now not all doom and gloom at WHL. And am really looking forward rather now than dwelling on what has been before.
New manager, new era. Let`s put Covid behind us, and start to enjoy watching Spurs again. Leave the balance sheets to those that get paid to sort those out, and just concentrate on the stuff on the pitch.

With the Prem season starting in a little

And when I say positivity is irrelevant in sport, I mean from a fan perspective, not those competing.

Don’t need to feel guilty Fridgeboy. I’m not positive whatsoever. Think we’re in for another utter s** season unless major reinforcements are made. It’s a bang average team and it has been for 2 seasons now.

Fridgeboy, I don`t think it is for you to tell me to wind my neck in for getting behind Nuno and the team.
If you don`t want to be positive fine, but don`t tell me what to do.
If you are going to post nonsense negative posts, then they will be deleted. I have had enough of all the negativity. You keep it to yourself if you want to be negative, or put your own article up.

It's not negative Sandy, it's just balance. I think deleting my post because it errs on the side of pragmatic rather than blind optimism is a level of censorship that makes little sense. It's a discussion board. Why delete posts you don't agree with on a board that champions variation of opinion?
In a sporting sense, positivity is overrated. It makes no tangible difference to success. Hard work does. When I come on here and apply caution or think England might lose a major knockout match, it's not because I don't want them to go through or for Spurs to have a terrible season, it's because it's the hope that kills. To expect victory and have it snatched from you is heartbreaking, for both club and country. Far easier to publicly denounce your chances so the fall isn't as great when we lose. The optimism still burns brightly inside, as I'm sure it does for all of us. I just resent the idea that a lack of public positivity somehow makes you less of a fan. I think it's quite the opposite in fact, as it proves that it means that much that you can't bring yourself to say it to avoid jinxing your chances.

I have no problem with opposition views or decent footie discussion. What I do mind though is you telling me to wind my neck in because I have the audacity to actually get behind Spurs and actually support them instead of moaning about them all the time.

OK Fridgeboy let's just leave it here.

Aurier wants to leave mate and club willing to sell

No way will Aurier be play at Dours this season... he has just one year left on his contract. So obviously the club will be looking to sell him for around £10m...
Good riddance as far as I’m concerned... he’s just an accident waiting to happen!!

I would be looking for more than £10 million. Chelsea are looking for £40 million for reserve team players.

I think he can still do a job Genius, but as you say he is not getting any younger. That said he is still first choice for Belgium, so must still have something to offer.

I think we can have a good season if we can add 3 or 4 quality players in problem positions, and maybe Nuno can get a tune out of players that Mourinho couldnt.
We all know who the players are that are not good enough and who need moving on, we are a quality CB (or 2), RB, CM (or 2) and Kane back up away from surprising a few people.
