In reality Arsenal aren't that far off.
Last season was an abnormal season that saw a lot of strange results and sequences, so not sure we should take too much from it.
However, Arsenal have a young, inexperienced manager and a lot of young players. They would have learnt a lot from last season. In fact we saw a massive improvement from the 1st half to the second half of the season.
We have a lot of quality in the squad, and the lack of European competition should be a massive benefit.

We still have a young, inexperienced manager and set of players so there is a lot of room for inconsistent performances and results.

No guarantees, but we should be in the fight. We hit 61 points last season despite being awful. A lot of dropped points came after Euro games. It isn't a massive leap to 70 points.

Completely agreed.

OK - 6 points off 4th place but that 4th place was occupied by Chelsea. Between Chelsea and Arsenal were West Ham and Tottenham. The only London clubs you finished ahead of were the mighty Crystal Palace and Fulham. 4th best in London. At least try to finish above Brentford this season.

Good to see rhere are still people capable of witty repartee.I stated facts. The truth hurts sometimes but as you grow up you have to learn to accept it.

Reminds me of what Jack Nicholson said in "A Few Good Men"

"You can't handle the truth!"

Don’t know much about the guy, and never seen him play, but it’s noticeable that at Anderlecht, there is a real sadness at Lokonga’s departure. He joined Anderlecht when he was 10, and worked his way up to become a key part of their first team. Jeans Kindermans, the head of Anderlecht’s academy said: ‘He was always a special guy. Sambi is versatile, with excellent technical skills and very goods passing, short and long.’

Time will tell, but he sounds like a useful prospect, at the very least. Also, with Guendouzi and Ceballos gone, and it’s almost certain that Xhaka and Torreira will be following them out of The Emirates, Arsenal needs bodies in the midfield rather urgently.

Wonderful, and now we only need four more signings (if you count Ben White as already done) before the season starts.

Couldn't agree more. Faccking ell a positive Gooner is a rare thing these days. We aint too far away Saka, ESR, Partey, Gabriel, Pepe and Tierney have all got loads of potential. Apart from Auba we'll have basically a different side to what we had under Unai so those naysayers saying we'll always be rubbish are talking crap because we aren't the same side.

Irrelevant comment. Where we finished last season means very little as we hope to have at least 5 new players to last season and the likes of Saka can only improve. If teams never improve then the likes of Man C and Chelsea would never have won the prem
