Carrol 35m Downing 20m Henderson 20m Adam 😂

It looks like Artitler and co have decided to celebrate 10 years of ja by outbantering Liverpool.

White £50m
Abraham £40m
Ramsdale £30m

And supposedly we want Henderson too

We are Chequebook Kenny’s Liverpool now, without the history, or Suarez.

I think Abraham for 40 million would be alright business. He's 15-20 goal a season striker for a decent team where he plays week in, week out.
Ramsdale is surely nonsense and White, whilst a decent player is unproven in a back 4 and way overpriced.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For Chelsea, he had one season where he got 18 goals in 46 (PL, CL & FA Cup) games - 15 league, 3 CL, and one where he got 12 in 30 - 6 league, 1 CL, and 4 FA Cup? For Villa he got 26 in 40, but that's the Championship.

I like Abraham, but I don't think he's really done much to suggest he's a 15-20 goal a season striker yet.

Apart from him being a 15-20 goal striker of course.

not at Chelsea in the big league he aint....doesn't have the belief...he'd be perfect for Arsenal

He's was literally that at Chelsea. It's not really up for debate because he's done exactly that.

Abraham would remind of Giroud in a way, good striker, but not top level and I doubt he will get Arsenal what they need to be a top 4 side again unless they become watertight defensively, which with Leno or Ramsdale in goal, they will not be.

Henderson would be a fantastic signing for Arsenal if they managed to pull that off.

My point is that one season scoring 20 goals doesn't make you a 20 goal a season striker... Javier Hernandez once got 20 in a season, does that mean that he's a 20 a season striker? No...

Is there any other reason that he has only had 1 season as Chelsea's main man? It just happened to coincide with the season that Chelsea couldn't buy anyone else, and as soon as they did, Abraham was dropped and only used a sub. Got to assume there's a reason that he didn't play more...?

For Villa, he got quite a few, but it was the Championship, and Charlie Austin got those numbers. Would you have paid 40m for him?

Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but I don't think he's the answer to Arsenal's problems, and certainly not at 40m...

If you buy him for 40m, good for you. Maybe I'll be completely wrong, but Chelsea getting that amount for someone who is obviously surplus to their requirements would be great business by them. There's a reason that he's not their main man, which is the reason he didn't hit the same numbers.

Out of curiosity I just had a look at that 15 goal PL campaign - 7 of them came in a 3 week period against Norwich, Sheffield United & Wolves, and he only scored 2 after the season restarted following the COVID break. Make of that whatever you want (obviously he still scored the 15), but he doesn't appear to be the most consistent goalscorer.

Maybe in a couple of years I'll be eating my words & it'll turn out to be a great bit of business - but I think that 40m for him is pretty massively overpriced.

Surely we can get a better goalkeeper than a bloke who was relegated 2 seasons running. or a guy who is on a ban.
If we are going to bid £30 m for Ramsdale, why not go for Pickford

He’s not a 15-20 goal a season striker, not in the PL anyway. 15 goals (as mentioned 7 of those came in 3 games) and only 6 goals last season.

And besides all that, when have things ever worked out well for us when we scour through Chelsea’s bin?

The only players I can think of who met expectations were Gallas (who ended up being an awful captain) and Benayoun (because we had no expectations of him).
