Not really because he only has a year left on his contract so his price should factor that in. Hopefully a middle ground can be agreed.

Did you call him up and he tell you that?

He’s a well known boyhood United fan, seems to be interested in playing in the PL and a new challenge.

By the sounds of it we’re in pole position though. PSG was supposedly an option but they’ve since got Ramos, who else is there realistically?

Rumours suggest he’s agreed a contract with us which would suggest he wants to move to us. Haven’t heard that he’s done that with anyone else.

Nonsense. Much like we did with Sancho you speak to all representatives etc make sure player wants to come then when all that is finalised the bid will go in

Not in todays world though.

Pretty much every transfer fee will be negotiated between clubs after contact is made between buying club and player first.

And then there's cases like Varane, where his club are actively looking to sell, and are likely to give consent to the player to negotiate with another club or clubs before negotiating any transfer fee.

Real Madrid are in a seriously shocking financial situation. They'll be trying to get every penny they can for their players, but United hold the cards here as we've got other options should Madrid want to play hardball.

Madrid want to sell Varane as he's possibly the highest value player they have and they need money.

Could go on until towards the end of the window but this one looks like happening. Trippier is the one that's gone from almost sorted to 50/50 or less recently.
