Contemplation Part 2

Afternoon all.
As a follow up from my previous article (stop reading now if you want football chatter, plenty of those to click on), I thought Iโ€™d share my latest musings.

Although my previous article seemed on face value to be a positive sharing of thoughts, I regrettably inform you that it was actually written with a tinge of sadness.

I stated that family is important, and in my case they certainly are. However, we cruelly lost my sister in law today to a brain tumour at the age of 42, leaving behind a husband and a daughter.

This is not a sympathy article, as itโ€™s not my style (those who frequent my postings will attest to this).

Surrounded by her closest members of her family, my wife included, she passed away peacefully at home. I suppose that was the best that we could have wished for her in her final moments.

This article, as if it needed pointing out, is a reminder that family is important, life is short, and as I said before, we should appreciate the little things in life.

At their passing, we mourn former players, mangers and people famous for many things. Just remember to make the most of the time you have with people you are close to, whether family or friends.

Iโ€™ll leave you with this: โ€œIn the end, all that really matters is the the love of those closest to you, and how you treat others on lifeโ€™s journey". - babyen.

You’re a good dude Babyen. Sorry for your loss and really hope the cause of death at least meant it gave as much preparation for the sad moment as is possible at times like this. People on the site do mindlessly squabble on here but in a sense it is a community and we’re all here anytime you just wanna chat and distract yourself with a laugh at Stretty or RDD article ๐Ÿ‘

That's awful news mate.

I wish you and your family nothing but good in what is a terrible time.

Keep that red flag flying high.

My younger sister died in February. Horrible.
From a personal level I don't have fear of death, but I'll pass on the suffering.

Really sorry to read this babyen.

Thanks for the reminder about family and friends. I know I’ve needed it occasionally in times past.

This last sixteen months or so has tipped things on their heads completely in terms of all of our relationships with those we don’t live with. Strangely enough, it actually took lockdowns in two different countries for my dad and me to get back into the routine of speaking every couple of weeks. Prior to that sometimes we’d let more than a month go by I guess. I don’t think I’d realised how much I’d missed some of our conversations since I left the country, and now we speak more often, doing it seems to be a lot easier.

I hope if any positive can come out of your family’s situation, it’s that it strengthens your bonds and through that you can help support each other.

Best wishes mate
