We are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Italian side Atalanta on a season-long loan, with an option to make the transfer permanent.
Born in Bologna, Pierluigi, 26, played his youth football at Verona and Manchester United before returning to Verona to make his Serie A debut in September, 2014. He played 27 times the next season, 2015/16, prompting a move to Aston Villa in July, 2016.
He played 20 times for Villa in the Championship in 2016/17 and, coincidentally, was on the bench when we beat Villa 2-0 in the FA Cup third round at White Hart Lane in January, 2017.
Pierluigi moved back to Italy initially on loan at Atalanta later that month, a move made permanent in June, 2018. He’s since played 108 times in all competitions for the Bergamo club, including 10 appearances in the Champions League in 2019/20 and 2020/21. He played 32 times last season as Atalanta finished third in Serie A and were runners-up in the Coppa Italia.
Pierluigi has been capped at Under-18, 19, 20 and 21 levels for Italy, and made his senior debut off the bench in a Euro 2020 qualifying match against Bosnia & Herzegovina in November, 2019.

Whatever the cause, Bergwijn needs to shape up or ship out. I would like to see him given one more season as I really think he could become a top player.

Still need as a minimum:
2 x quality CB's
1 x quality RB
1 x quality CMF
1 x CF as Kane back up
or
1 x Quality CF if Kane goes ( something quite frankly, i wish he and Spurs would make their mind up about, to stop this constant media tripe making it as they go along each day)
Oh and Mr Levy, quality means £40m+ if you actually want to win something. So that's an investment of around £200m if you sell Kane, around £180m if you don't.
Suggest you get your finger out Mr Levy and start off loading our vast array of deadwood. Something you should have been working on 1 or 2 years ago.

Yes could be a goer if they offer close to £20m. I just have a nagging feeling that he will develop into a bit of a player - however he looked really unhappy last year so maybe a move is for the best

Not sure Mourinho ruined him Billy. I sure he didn`t tell him to miss open goals. Players need to take responsibility for their own form, cannot keep blaming managers. He has been about a 3/10 since he arrived.
