Leif Davis signs for Bournemouth

Davis has gone to Bournemouth on a season long loan with the option to buy.

Doesn't surprise me, unfortunately he hasn't pressed on as expected and is certainly behind Firpo and Dallas at left back. Last season he has also looked second best when playing for the U23's to Huggins in particular.

Best of luck for the future Leif.

I thought Huggins had a lot of potential, I was surprised we decided to let him go.

Hope we sign Galan for 3 mil as we look desperately light at left back. Dallas is useful cover but we are light in midfield too

Wonder if Firpo will start v Guiseley then. Ill see later on I suppose.

I hope we sign a CM to start. Dallas is free to cover left back if needed, and we sign a prospect for the u23s as third choice

Looks like Huggins has been told he can go, as well, so a strange one.

Interested to know what the buy fee is for Davis. Would probably want in the region of 4-5 million.

Read that and also that he wants to fight for his place, how accurate is your source Lubo?

Watched him all last season and he did well but there is a big gap between 2nd division under 23 and first team. Looking OK against players of a similar level is no indicator.

Would leave us short on that side.

Wonder who else has been told to look elsewhere, Jenkins, for example, is a bit older than him and doesn't seem to be as good. Unfortunately football can be very cut-throat

I read we were after a lb/cb from Celtic but he's only 17

There was an article which reported that Huggins, Gotts, Stevens and Hosannah could all go but not heard anything since that other than Stevens went for a trial game at Harrogate last week.

As for Very Good Davis he didnt really get much of a look in. When he did start it was often at centre back against some huge league 2 striker who bullied him. Remember that happening a couple of times or more. He has been injury prone also in and out over past couple of seasons. Hopefully we will recover what he cost plus the wages he has earned and if we are sensible negotiated a sell on fee just in case.

You sure you're talking about Davis, Kebab? I cannot recall him ever starting as CB against League 2 oppo, He's a left back surely and was used accordingly. Did he start at CB against Salford or similar in the cup, I am confused.

Everything that comes out of the club seems to suggest that Davis has the ability to be a very good player, but his application isn't at the level to match that. Hopefully he finds that with more senior game time.

Huggins a weird one. I would have been happy for him to stay, as think he looks good, but him not featuring today is probably a damning indictment of his future with us. A young LB is incoming (2 if you think of Hjelde and Anderson as both options there), and Drameh and McCarron can also operate there for the U23s.

Firpo, Dallas, youngster is good options. We won't be signing anyone else there.
