Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are named on the bench for Liverpool’s pre-season encounter with Hertha BSC in Innsbruck tonight – watch live on LFCTV GO from 6.30pm BST.
The pair are among the substitutes and could make their long-awaited returns from respective injuries.
Diogo Jota and Andy Robertson are also on the bench, while Ibrahima Konate begins the game alongside Joel Matip.

Can anyone tell me why Centre Parcs is like a £1000 a week btw? It's outrageous. They love it but personally I can think of far better ways to spend my money like going to the Maldives.

We’ve been twice and the prices are pretty outrageous. It’s not even a week either though, it’s four nights isn’t it?! It is a good set up though, certainly better than seaside resorts imo. Only a 40 min drive to Sherwood too….

I expect us to win the league. Not saying we will but we should have confidence in this side. There is so much quality there and experience if getting the job done.
I would be amazed if we have to suffer such concentrated injury issues in 1 position again so see no reason why we cant expect to see the team the racked up 196 points in 2 seasons.

Milner would play the same in the garden with his kids as he would a world cup final. Robbo too. But jota didn't want to put a foot in today, ran well but pulled out cos its a friendly.
Minamino I just dont get at all. Don't see it in him. Keita only when it suits him.
We I think need a couple more players to round out this squad.

Would love to see at least another 1 come in, would certainly make me feel more comfortable. If not though I still have faith in the group. I personally feel theres another 2 good years out this squad before age really will play its part. Im quite happy for others to write us off as also rans. If we fly under the radar that suits me just fine.
I said on another thread yesterday I think the top 4 should all be aiming for the title. Theres top quality in abundance through all their squads. Our manager and the experience in the squad of being able to actually got the distance with this city side stand us in good stead.

The great unknown is firmino.
Last night we had a huge hole where he would normally be as minamino is not even a shadow of firmino. Imo our season hinges on what he looks like this season.
I would agree there's zero excuses for the European champions or the club spending 100s of millions (not even city lol) they have to be in a title race with city.
Our form over more than half last season was good enough despite it all. 3-3-8 record in the middle was a disaster and even if we just dont repeat that we should pick up 10-15 points so 80+ should be possible if we are right. After that who really knows.
I think fabinho henderson and thiago need to play all season though. I dont see the players behind as really competitive with other clubs.

The point is that good players don't get loaned out. They stay training with the best players and best coaches and best managers otherwise all the best players in the history of football would have been loaned out when they were teenagers and they're simply not.

VVD looked really rusty LOL.
thye need to get as many matches organised as possible now just to get him movving.
There was an interesting comment on the blog that linders is doing form camp about klopp faking some training so that VVD's team had to run far further than any other group just to make him run more.
realistically we is 3 or 4 months of games away form the best isn't he?

Yeah the midfield is the area id like to see 1 more brought in. People talking about keita and ox having big seasons quite frankly are kidding themselves on. Time and time and time again they break down leaving us thread bare. I have no confidence it will be any different this season.
We definitely need a bit of luck on the injury front in certain areas of the pitch but in terms of the 11 we have and maybe 5 or 6 behind that when u through in konate matip milner jota jones I honestly wouldnt swap with any of the other sides. If they stay fit we should be competitive.
