Villa will finish above spurs

Both teams best players had their heads turned by the state funded endless cash pot of Manchester City

Villa have prepared well. Signing Norwich’s best player buendia, also a very astute signing in Leon Bailey and now a proven goal scorer in danny ings .

They have gone about their business with minimal fuss, out of the public eye, getting transfers done quickly in time for the new season

Spurs on the other hand have signed a reserve goal keeper and a young unproven winger. All this after spending an eternity replacing their manager in a public farce of a recruitment process. They have spent a fortune in wages on a dof, who has changed nothing in regards to their transfer policy.

They have their best player on strike, the most expensive player on eternal leave and a complete mess of a squad left behind by a complete mess of a manager in mourinho.

So out of the two latest clubs to lose their best players to the oil barons, who will do better this term?

I'll take the first shift on the OP's suicide watch.

Hang in there smeg....you have a lot to live for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He still has to meet up with me for a pint at WHL. And I may have to give him a grand if Spurs get relegated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not relegated just 15th or lower.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's as good as relegated

Last night's friendly showed we are light years behind the pack, only when Chelsea put there 2nd and 3rd team out in the 2nd half did we compete then with a bit of luck
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sandy said you smashed em and unlucky not to win
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes well thats the sort of idiotic comment he would make
----------------------------------------------------------------------

and yet people still rise to it.

Who is the bigger fool....the fool who continually posts idiotic statements, or the fool who bites?

Villa have progressed well since coming up and have gone about their transfer business efficiently no doubt. Their owners are very wealthy and also have ambition. They’ll continue to progress over the next few years.

But you can’t understate how essential Grealish has been to them the last 3 years - dragged them up from the Championship and was outstanding last season. When he got injured in the spring their results plummeted. Losing him offsets the new signings and leaves them as a 9th - 13th level team IMO.

Spurs, for all our current woes, should have enough to finish 8th.

We finished 7th WITH Kane. 8th without him is wishful thinking. Unless we recruit very, very well but we're running out of time for that.

Football don`t really work like that. Spurs got to a CL final without Kane, then lost the final with Kane.

Spurs also won nothing with Kane, maybe they will win something without him. Nobody can see into the future.

Chicken and egg.....we cannot "recruit very very well" to compensate for the loss of Kane until we know the loss of Kane is going to happen.
