We aren't the best team in the world, we may finish next season without a trophy and yet still have a season that's considered positive and still shows progress. Just enjoy the season, look forward to seeing some exciting players, some young ones get a chance and hopefully win something. I don't know why some people treat football like such a stress, just rocking back and forth all summer muttering "must win the FA Cup, must win the FA Cup". My current conclusion is that it's more common in unsuccessful people and that they have to pin their hopes or chances of enjoying some form of success on a bunch of strangers who they, I dunno, live vicariously through?

We don't know, but it doesn't really look like anyone has been told to look for a new club.

You can't do a proper rebuild unless you sell players as well as buy—and we don't seem to like doing that.

They give players big new contracts to boost the clubs assets on the balance sheet, problem is you've then got players with big wages on long contracts that no one fancies for the wages they're on. We then either offload them for peanuts or don't sell them.

I don't think not liking to sell comes into it.
