Jablonec 2 Celtic 4

A win is a win and there was some good and some bad to along with it.

Positives first, despite John Hartson (a man who lost to clyde) views that we should be beating these teams by 5,6,7 goals, thats not how football works in the read world. We have rarely scored more than 3 goals away in Europe even against tripe like Linfield.

We scored 4 goals and i thought each of them was pretty decent, impressed with Kyogos movement off the ball, and his finishing.

Highlights - Abada looks like he will get goals for us, i'd like to see a bit more work on the wing though, beating players and putting in crosses but a positive start.

Kyogo - first start, first goal, made a lot of unselfish, intelligent runs to open up space for his team mates and you could already see the difference that made to our foward play. A workers attitude as oppose to someone who clearly doesn't want to be there.

Hart - don't think he can do much with the goals, defence and keeper exposed imo.

now the negs

Defence - it's all over the place lets be honest, the full backs pushing high and central mean that if we lose the ball all it takes is one long pass to scunner us. CB's rushing into tackles and bitton going for a stroll. He is not a CB, he should be used in emergencies only.

Turnbull - he's been rotted since the start of the season, really needs to pick up that form.

LW - despite forrest scoring he's not natural there and it's evident, neither is christie, go get the lad Lovric ffs.

Seen people ask last night "where's ralston" - where he was told to be is the answer and this needs resolved quickly because better teams will schite all over this defence.

RB, LB, CB as a priority.

I see that we are linked with Fabricio Bustos from Argentina today, probably nonsense but youtube scouting has this one putting in tackles and crosses so that would be helpful.

Onward to next week and i'm confident we will go through

First competitive win sorted, now onto the next one.

Ignazio Genuardi reports that Celtic striker Odsonne Édouard could be set to join Premier League side Brighton, with discussions for the former PSG man currently underway.

The 23-year-old forward is currently under contract until the end of the upcoming season with the Scottish club, having been in Glasgow since 2017 and scoring 82 goals in his four campaigns.

Brighton are aiming to have the former French youth international’s transfer wrapped up by next week.

Here's hoping 🤞

Surprised that Southampton aren't sniffing about as well, having sold Ings.

The sooner Eddy can GTF the better, as we all pretty much agree. Been really disappointed with his "attitude" for the last 12 months plus. Totally unprofessional, even allowing for the fact that for most of that time his manager was a jakey.

His replacement absolutely needs to be somebody with physical presence though. Well, whether that's his, Griff's or Ajeti's replacement, at least one of them needs to be physical, given our current squad of oompa loompas.

… and as I said yesterday, in today’s Beeb footy gossip …

“Southampton hope to beat Brighton to the £20m signing of Odsonne Edouard from Celtic but the striker will need to reduce his wage demands. (Sun)”

Here’s hoping for a bidding war for the sulky coont.
