Wolves are unbeaten in their last eight opening-day fixtures, with the run going all the way back to a 1-0 defeat to Leeds United in the first match of the 2012/13 season.

Head coach Bruno Lage takes charge of a Premier League game for the first time having only experienced the English top flight previously as assistant to Carlos Carvalhal at Swansea City during the 2017/18 season.
After a tough pre-season for the players the new coach is seemingly implanting his ideas and the change in playing style is noticeable.

Wolves have brought in Portuguese winger Francisco Trincao, on loan from Barcelona and Columbian centre back Yerson Mosquera. They made the loan for wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri permanent and brought in keeper José Sá.
Whilst outgoing players include keeper Rui Patricio, Rúben Vinagre, Willian José and Vitinha.

The pre-season games have shown that despite the new more aggressive playing style wolves have still not changed in two important areas.
1. They still only play for 45 minutes.
2. They still lack any real threat in the final third.

Meanwhile Leicester City have been busy in the transfer market bringing in Zambian striker Patson Daka, Midfielder Boubakary Soumaré, defender Ryan Bertrand, winger Rachid Ghezzal and central defender Filip Benkovic.
Leicester’s outgoing players include Christian Fuchs, Matty James, Wes Morgan & Cengiz Under.

Bruno Lage will be without long term absentees Jonny Otto and Pedro Neto. Daniel Podence is nearing full fitness but will not be ready for this game. Both Willy Boly and Yerson Mosquera have suffered injuries in pre-season games and both are a doubt for Saturday.

Brendan Rogers has also got injured players, most notably defenders Wesley Fofana, James Austin, Timothy Castagne, Jonny Evans and midfielder Nampalys Mendy.

With the King Power stadium once again filled with expectant fans, the atmosphere should be electric.
The teams are ready, the fans are ready sooooooooooooooooooooooo
Let’s get ready to rumble.

The Premier League season starts with a deserved and fairly comfortable win for Brentford against Arsenal

and as a result we're not "bottom" any more.

Kind of ridiculous that he hasn't even met the guy yet such are the commitments of summer tournaments in the modern game.

I had been wondering why the posts on Gem’s other thread had dried up .

Not sure what to expect this season - don’t think we’ve strengthened enough yet. Don’t envisage a relegation battle, more of a “meh” season. Hope I’m wrong though!

New name being linked with Wolves is the Bologna right sided centre back Tomiyasu who was part of the Japanese team that got to the Olympics semi finals

I hope you're not wrong Howling. I really don't fancy a relegation battle!

No chance of us being in a relegation battle unless Bruno Lage turns out to be completely useless.

Last season if circumstances had been reversed and Jimenez had played a full season and Vardy hadn’t played from November onwards , we would have finished above Leicester.
