The rolling circus is in town. Might as well just hand City the 3 points with these utter clowns 🤡 in defence Sunday. Can’t believe Romero isn’t even fit for our league opener it’s just so Spursy isn’t it ? None of our signings are likely to take any part and Harry Kane is almost certainly missing out too, meaning we have the same s** team as last season minus Kane and Bale. Trying to be positive about the upcoming season but how can you with this ? Literally can’t believe these pair of donkeys are going to start our season

I am more worried about our accountant chairman selling our best player and trying to replace him, than having Dier and Sanchez in defence, yes they need upgrading, but losing the best CF in the world will cripple us.
Anybody saying sell Kane, is simply clueless, we will be losing 50 odd goals and assists, and we have already lost Bale`s contribution.
All the potential new players coming in are from abroad where the market is cheaper, there is a good chance a lot of them will flop or take time to adapt.
We have seen this pantomime before, with Baldini and the Bale money, and Paratici could be just as bad, up to now the jury is still out.
I can see us selling Kane to that gutter club from Manchester, spending the proceeds, and being worse off. You can not under estimate what Kane brings to us, and if he is sold we may as well prepare ourselves for another season of misery.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally agree Billy. Anyone thinking we can better off without Kane is incredibly deluded. That’s 50 goals and assists you need replacing. He is irreplaceable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think they're necessarily in favour of selling Kane but there are several reasons for their argument:
• We'll have an unhappy player on our books held hostage
• Selling Kane affords us a clean slate and a good kitty for the 'painful rebuild'
• This summer, more than any other, the clubs on the continent are desperate for cash. If there is ever a time to raid, it's now.
No one wants him to go but you have to admit that we are massively top heavy at the club. We have the best striker in the world and a bang average squad. Maybe it's time to sell and reinvest in a more balanced, talented squad overall. Not one outstanding player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As somebody who isn't against selling Kane (for a crazy 150ish mil sum) I find the "how can we replace all his goals and assists" argument ridiculous.
The whole point is that you spend the dosh with replacing his goals and assists in mind. I'm surprised how few people on this forum have noticed that he isn't the player he was, he's lost a yard and alot of the dropping back doing the midfields job for them prevents him from being where he should be when the ball gets into the opponents box.
If we don't take the mega money on offer we will cost ourselves millions just like we did with Eriksen.

The number of sprints players make in each game have increased by 50% in the last 10 years alone. Teams are covering an extra 20k per game to what they were doing 20 years ago. Imagine how big that increase must be over the last 40-50 years.
Yet you get people like sandy who don't understand why players need more rest than they did in the 1960s
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but they are pampered now though. If a light bulb goes in their house they phone the club's player liaison to organise someone to come and change it.
They are elite athletes though so need to be at 100% or it shows. They are probably never any less than 85% even off season but need to build up the intensity to 100% carefully or risk injury.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Olympics make a mockery of these divas. Many don’t even run in the matches. We definitely too soft on these players. Soft mentality in the Club that needs to change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree, astonishing how many give footballers so much leeway, and give them the excuse of they need time to get fit. Modern players have everything going for them, and should be as fit as a fiddle for 50 weeks of the year. There is absolutely no excuses why they shouldn`t be ready for the start of the season.

Spurs are not holding anybody hostage. Kane signed a contract, and is not even halfway through it. I hate it when players who are under contract, are said to be held to hostage. It`s a nonsense. Nobody forced Kane to sign his lucrative contract. And now he has, he should have the decency to see most of it out, and not look for just personal glory.

It's the standard Spurs I'm afraid. We always go into the start of a season not quite prepared, either still seeking players to fill positions we're desperate for, or having too many of the deadwood and poorer players in our squad that will ultimately end up getting games they shouldn't. And this then costs us in the long run where we miss out on CL or whatever else at the end, by a small margin.

Sandy, modern players are both multi million pound assets and finely tuned machines. They play at a ridiculous level of intensity compared to even 20 years ago, the kind which has a huge impact on the body. Clubs invest in medical teams, nutritionists and sports scientists etc to keep these guys in a zone where they are able to physically compete at the level required.
The sport has moved on immeasurably since the days you’re forever harking back to. I’ll tell you this - if you could transport Peps Barca for example back to the early 60’s to play our double winning team then that Spurs side would get absolutely murdered as they would not be able to compete with the pace, stamina or intensity of a top modern team - they’d be chasing shadows from the off and blowing out of their arris’s by half time. You need to stop comparing apples with oranges.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
LOL I have not noticed to much high intensity from players like N`dombele. I hate all the excuses players give, aided and abetted by supporters for not turning up on the opening day of the season. The get paid a fortune to play football, so there is absolutely no excuse not to be ready for the start of the season. The International Tournaments finished a while back, and even allowing for a couple of weeks holiday, they should all have been back and up and ready for the season. If some of the players, who played in the tournaments can be ready, there really is no excuse for others not to be ready.
If you were to transport the modern players back to the 60s, most of them would not go anywhere near the pitch, in case they got a bit of mud on them. Silly argument you make Ace. May as well say move Jimmy Greaves to the modern era, with all the stuff you say the modern players get going for them, and he would score 60 goals a season regularly. You either have or or you don`t as a footballer, whatever era you play.
