The time for all the talking has now

come to an end. The Prem starts this evening. Come on Brentford.

The BBC brains have excelled themselves with their predictions, and Shearer and Lawro have come up with a couple of stella predictions to kick the season off.

Shearer predicts that the title race will be exciting and four teams will be involved.

Chelsea
Man City
Liverpool
Man United

Very insightful, and must have taken weeks of indepth analysis.

Lawro goes further and predicts a Man City win at Tottenham. Who would have thought that.

As for Spurs, who knows how it will go, but I am certainly thinking it will be better than last season. Kicking off against City, wouldn`t be a shock if Spurs won.

Man City have not won at the new or the old WHL since 2015. Last five games at WHL

Spurs
W5 D0 L0 F11 A1

City
W0 D0 L5 F1 A11

You won`t see these stats on Sky, so thought I would post them on here.

An excellent record for Spurs, and one I think will continue, even without Kane starting. Be nice to get off to a better start than last year. The team look more together as a unit pre season, so who knows, maybe Nuno is getting more out of the players in training.

Anyway here we go. Best of luck for the new season.

Meh, it will be the same old shiete but a different depth.

We`ll win fack all and without Kane will be competing for 5th to 8th.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even with Kane last and the fantastic season he had, you only competed for 5th - 8th and finished 7th. If Kane goes, not only do you lose the goals but the assists as well and with no Champions League getting the quality players in will be tough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So Kane is the only goalscorer in the world now? If Kane goes, Spurs will purchase another striker. That is what club`s usually do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You appear to be forgetting, it isn't up to Spurs whether they purchase another striker, it's up to the selling clubs and the players themselves.

If teams like City, Chelsea & United are having difficulty getting in their main targets what makes you think Spurs (with no CL and a much lower wage structure) can just go and get a top notch striker?

You really are living in a fantasy world Sandy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It`s also not up to Man City if Kane goes either. So what`s your point? If Spurs don`t think they can get another striker, then Kane doesn`t go. Simple really. Spurs still hold all the aces re Kane.

Well if a striker is going to be so difficult to get, then Kane will not go.

And our sitting back trying to defend the lead after those goals and assists before losing is what cost us.

We don't need a player replacing his goals like for like, we need a better team performance and game management.

I didn't say it was.

The difference is though that Kane DOES want to go to city.

What I was saying is that if Kane does go then there is no guarantee that any of your targets will want to go to Spurs.

There you go again acting as though you have ANY say in the outcome.

Levy doesn't give a toss how you feel or what you think. He will do whatever ENIC want him to do whether you or any other Spurs fans like it or not.

Selling Kane on or close to deadline day would be seen as good business for ENIC. That's why I believe it will happen whether you like it or not..

Exactly, if Spurs concede less, then they won`t need to score so many. A few 1-0 wins would not go amiss. Spurs still have plenty of goals in them even without Kane, but they need to stop letting in goals every game.

It really doesn`t matter if Kane wants to go or not. He doesn`t really get a say. He is under contract for another three years, and if Spurs cannot get a decent striker in to replace him, then he stays. Not exactly rocket science fella.

Morning Sandy,

Are you going on Sunday?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes mate. I am looking forward to the game, but not entry into the stadium with all the checks that will be in progress. I very much doubt the game will kick off at 16.30, expect to see big queues outside the stadium with supporters trying to get in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you want to meet up at the same place at around 3pm? Do you still have my number?

So that's agreed the. Spurs, a top 6 club, with untold income generated from the stadium post pandemic to look forward too, will NEVER, EVER sign another player, with the board, who have a minimum financial model, just sitting back, doing nothing and watch their considerable investment drop into the Championship or worse.
Yeah that makes perfect sense.

Stop being a fecking eejit, nobody said Spurs will never sign another player.

This window otoh is proving problematic for some of the biggest clubs in the PL so why do some Spurs posters think it'll be easier for them to sign a decent striker than for teams with far more going for them than little old Spurs.
