Denis the Menace

Sad news today that a legend in British football has been diagnosed with “mixed dementia", Denis Law, one of the all time great players for United, Torino & City.

A lovely man too, he used to represent a toy company in the 80’s and I was with MB Games, met him at many toy fairs and dinner parties, great company and magnificent hair!

I hope it is not too serious, and that the next few years he doesn’t deteriorate.

Same as Bobby.
The King is a true United great.
And despite playing for City twice, he is one of us.

I would hope he is one of us 52. He does have a statue.

I meant he is a fan, like you and me

I guess you knew that anyway.
What a player he was

Nope, United would have gone down anyway.

However, Denis did score 7 goals in one cup tie vs Luton when he was a blue, and ended up on the losing side.

Dreadful dreadful news. Denis Law for me was, and still is, one of your all time greats. What a player, what a Scot, what a man. I wish him well.

Well said Jimmy, and spot on.
He's definitely one of our all time greats

Hard to believe that there are so few comments

The Lawman won the ballon d'or, he was a truly great player, and a character. One of the few who would be great now.

Modern supporters don`t care a lot for the real legends of the game mate. Some of the comments about the great players of the past on lots of articles are laughable. I have even seen posts from supporters to say that Jimmy Greaves was average, and would not be any good in the modern game. Wat a load of tosh. Best, Law, Greaves were three of the greatest ever British players.

Ive seen comments on social media over the last 24 hours by 'United fans' who seem to be annoyed that Law is referred to as 'The King'; a title that they think belongs to Eric Cantona. (Both players are A list United legends, but sorry kids, Law is the original 'King' if you know your history, which doesnt diminish Eric's standing at the club in anyway)

Apart from trying to re-write United history for some reason it is disrespectful at the very least.
