Declan Rice unhappy with asking price

of 100 million by West Ham.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/08/21/exclusive-declan-rice-unhappy-west-hams-prohibitive-100m-price/

Anyone else getting sick of hearing the likes of this story and Harry Kane’s.

No one forces these players to sign these contracts and the club is entitled to ask what they want for the player until the contract is signed unless their is something in the contract to say otherwise.

I actually do think Neves would be really good for us in a lot of games tbf. His range of passing from deep while still putting a foot in would be far more useful to us being able to get on the front foot quicker than with Fred or McT as true deepest player. Just don’t think he’s quite good ‘enough’ to hold that position down on his own.

We’re desperate for a player who can recreate those passes out wide that Scholes manages with ease.

Players like Sancho, Martial and Rashford would thrive off the one on ones those passes create.

I’ve always thought Neves’ passing range is quite limited. He’s very good at long balls, but doesn’t seem to do much with short sharp passes in the middle of the pitch. I think we need those more, because then we can break the lines and get the attackers into the game quicker. Wolves’ style of play probably doesn’t help show that side of his game, I guess. But he does seem to struggle when pressed due to not having that bit of quality to evade a man.

That’s why I’d prefer Bissouma, despite not having a long ball game. He’s good at creating space for a shorter pass with his dribbling.

We should seriously consider Bruno Guimaraes because he's a quick and accurate forward passer both short and long, he can break lines with his passing and dribbling although he's not as good at carrying the ball as Bissouma is but he's quite press resistant and he's more active defensively and better suited to a sitting role than Camavinga would be. I think he's a little underrated compared to some of Ligue 1's other midfielders.

He's like a more defensive number 8 which is what I think we need more than anything in midfield.

Perfect example of Bruno's line breaking passing, Lyon's 2nd goal just now came from one.

Busby said it yesterday, I think with Rice there’s the intangibles that are probably seen as valuable. He’s usually West Ham captain now Noble doesn’t play as much. It was a similar thing with the signing of Maguire.

I can understand that, though. A lot gets spoken about being the ideal tactical fit, and having the right technical attributes, but many of our failed signings have been due to not having the right mentality to play for United.

If they have the latter, you can find solutions with how the team plays to overcome the former.

Quite pleased the club set that price. Means we will avoid him.

Wouldn't pay 40m for him.

Waiting for his £1m bonus to leave was a personal favourite or when McCarthy ruined him.
