14:00 Molineux Stadium.
An early return to the Molineux for Nuno, let’s hope he doesn’t see us do the Spursy thing and lose/draw after beating City in our opening game!

We may start the season well. Let’s wait and see but we will desperately need reinforcements as the season progresses
Right now we desperately need a new goal scoring striker, right back, holding midfielder, centreback and a Creative midfielder.
That’s 5 x quality players before we even consider top four.
We still have Sissoko, Aurier. Winks, Doherty, Dier, Ndombele (wants to leave) & Kane (can ants to leave) still on the books.
We have 9 days of the window left.
We really are in a bit of a mess

20 goals a season strikers are so easy to find.
We probably better off buying 3 20m strikers and hope one comes good then buying 1 60m striker called N'Goals who will flop.

Counter argument: do we need to replace all those goals if Kane leaves? If Nuno has us more defensively solid then we can afford to score less.
Maybe I’m clutching at straws

Potentially that is true. We scored the equal third most goals in the league last season, but lost so many leads that cost us a lot of points. So a better defence this time round is more important than maintaining our goalscoring. That said, the aim should be to try and improve both I guess, although I'm actually not expecting us to get as many goals this season whether Kane stays or goes.

My main fine cue was always to shore up the defence with two centrebacks and a right back.
So far we have one of those. Make or break in next week or so

For sure - I’m not saying it’s an exact science. I don’t remember us getting drubbed to often tho, so I really do think a slightly stronger defence, than can last the full 90 can do us a world of good

20 league goals a season? Not that easy if it's that. Before Kane the last one we had was Klinsmann 20 years ago.

Depends how many goals we lose. If we lose Kane and don't adequately replace that would reduce our goal tally quite a bit, and even if our defence improved, I think we'd drop a good number of points just from not getting goals to take leads.

Aston villa manager was asked if the Grealish transfer disrupted there pre-season, he said no we were prepared, what a difference

We looked prepared for City, but we seem to have their number in that fixture
