Thoughts from the weekend 🤔 ⚽️

So two weeks into the season here are some thoughts ….

1) Greenwood for me is good enough to be starting every week and even when Cavani is back he shouldn’t just walk in to the side. Even at 19 (soon to be 20) it’s clear that Greenwood is ready now to be a regular 45-50 game a season player. It was good enough for Owen and Rooney at that age so why not Mason? Do we even need to go for Haaland when arguably his presence would hinder Masons game time?

2) Lukaku is possibly the signing the the window and potentially makes Chelsea at least joint favourites for the title - though Chelsea have a brutal fixture list in the next few weeks so if they’re still top after that you’d have to make them clear faves.

3) Darren may have a point about Graham Potter.

4) Ings might be the second best signing of the window. I’m sure in an alternative universe City signed him instead of trying to sign Kane and he was a success.

5) Liverpool look energised and should be right up there at the end of the season. Having fans back is a huge help to every side but are a 12th man to Liverpool. Having actual defenders is a plus too.

6) Arsenal will be a banter club for a few more years yet. Karma for throwing pizza at SAF.

7) If you want a leg of your accumulator where you need loads of goals in a game then Leeds are your guys.

8) Norwich are more certain to go down than Duncs mum when the promise of free meth is there.

9) Brentford look more than good enough to stay up. A decent, likeable club.

10) Culer is more irritating than genital warts. Apparently.

It's a really strange obsession, this Lukaku thing. The club got a handsome fee for a player who was overweight, didn't want to be here and wasn't trying. Fair play to him, it looks like he's sorted himself out with a move, but I guarantee if we'd kept him we'd have had more of the same and the usual suspects would be bleating about how Ole isn't ruthless enough, look at him hanging on to Lukaku.

I doubt very many if at all bar the odd person thinks it was wrong to sell Lukaku. As his self appointed biggest fan I think it was the right move as he’s blossomed loads from it. Most of us at the time thought it was a shame he left but hoped we’d invest that £75 million on a replacement.

I just think ole gave up too quickly on him and could have turned him into to the player he is now, but for United.
