The difference between the acclaimed

King Jose cereal winner and plain Nuno, firstly Jose would go out of his way to antagonise and isolate players, were Nuno seems to have a calming encouraging influence, jose had a prickly obnoxious attitude, Nuno is calm, then there is the football ethos what a difference that is.
Must have been difficult for the players to readjust again but they seem to be completely reenergised this season, The dark days of Mourinho are over.
Viva la difference

The thing with Jose is that his attitude is borne out of an absolute desire to win (and whether this is in turn borne our of being such an egotist is another question).

So what is strong about Jose is that he does not accept failure or less than 100% but it is how he responds to this which is his downfall.

I'm all for having a nice chummy manager who will not upset our millionaire players but they also need some tough treatment at times if they are not delivering. Nuno must have an absolute burning desire to bring success because that is what is needed, you see it from all the consistently successful managers. Cannot think of too many nice winners when it comes to managers. They all have a cvntish streak to them.

Mourinho was a fraud though by the time he arrived at Spurs he was washed up, found out and out of touch with reality, his time at Spurs took the club backward
----------------------------------------------------------------------

His time and approach may have passed but that does not make him a fraud.

Part of Spurs downward turn is due to more than just the manager. The squad needs refreshing and I think most fans recognise this. May be if we had gone with Romero and not Rodon things may have been different.

Fully agree Devonshire. Simplistic to blame it all on Mourinho. The squad as it stands is simply not good enough and hasn’t been for a while.

My article is about the managers, how refreshing it is to have a manager that doesn't have a attitude problem, and play negative football, that is nothing to do with the squad we have or need

The bottom line is, players will run if they feel loved and like the manager, they ran for Poch and they appear to be running for Nuno.

Mourinho`s man management style was to blame everybody but himself, he would publicly criticize players and purposely make examples of players. There is no wonder some of them stopped putting in 100% and stopped running.

We were not that far off the CL places when he left . Ok, Partly due to him and also the nature of the squad, His tactics were not to everyone’s liking and the football was dire but we were not that far off the CL places and he did get us to a cup final.
So Players did put the effort in. At the eNd of the day players also have pride and want to win so he must have got something right.

Nuno is getting the new manager bounce.

Lets see how nice he is in adversity. Jose was top after 12 games last season and was Happy Jose, it started going titsup and he reverted to type, which is fine but it did not result in better results. If it had none of us would really be moaning about miserable Jose.

I do not care if Nuno is a nice guy or an aarse or a moaning Klopp, if he gets us playing well and winning then thats all that matters.

If you read many of the reports he actually sounds quite distant with regards to his training methods. So is there really that bond between him and his team?

Jose was very hands-on and Nuno seems quite hands-off, so may be the team are just enjoying that for now and its the team bond that is carrying them

Let's not get carried away.

First game at home was in front of a capacity crowd for the first time in ages. The buzz from that may have contributed to what was a good performance.

We lost against a terrible European side in midweek that even with our second string should have been taken care of.

In all honesty, we shouldn't really have won that game yesterday. They had 25 shots against us. Wolves. A mid table team. That's too much by any stretch, regardless of how clear cut they might or might not have been. Gaps opened up for us late on to ramp up our own chances but that's because they became desperate. On another day, we'd have lost.

I'm not blaming Nuno. It's difficult for the players to move on from the Jose fiasco but let's be honest here. This is not a move from a Jose to a Poch type figure. They're both defensively-minded coaches. Master and apprentice. To expect him to somehow become a free-flowing expansive coach is just ridiculous. If you want that, get a different man in. It'll be more harmonious under him but the football won't improve that much. That's just not his way.

He doesn't criticise in public or isolate his players, doesn't talk in riddles at pressies so that's a big improvement

There are very slight differences with Nuno and Jose’s approach in reality. The main difference is, Jose allows for the long ball, particularly the diagonal. Both coachs are defensively rigid and like their times to play on the counter.

Nuno just seems to like the players to release the ball quickly on counter with a couple of tidy meat passes before the breakaway. He also allows both FBs to play their parts over the game in joining attacks. In contrast to Jose 1FB and 3CBs.

King Jose cereal winner
—————

Spurs hired José because they krave silverware, but he’s a bit of a fruit loop and they said cheerio after the relationship became frosty. Ultimately he wasn’t very popular, like George Golden Graham. Not sure they have the players though, to be honest - it’s a long time since the days of Shreddy Sheringham and David Granola.
