Derby v Forest - Match Thread

You might usually expect a form goes out the window statement here, the crowd will matter or some other guff....but no, I'm predicting a Forest loss.

That may sound slightly pessimistic....but one thing that is consistent is CHs tactics...and those tactics will see a team looking for a draw. However, I am optimistic we will sack him and the football will get slightly more exciting.

We will likely start like this: (with the form of Back, Fornah and Horvath being ignored and CH going for a no-nonsense side....Grrrrrrrrr)

Samba
Gabriel Figs McKenna Bong
Yates Cafu
Z.Nagel Carvalho Mighten
Taylor

That is the exact same starting XI as he did against Stoke. The game where we didn't even register a shot on target.

Our overall record under CH is W14 D16 L20 or W12 D16 L18 in the league, which is a 28% or 26% win rate.

Another fact, we haven't won in the league since April 6th. That's ten (10) league games without a win. GF 6 GA 13.

My starting XI....

Horvath
*Back Fernandes ***McKenna Gabriel
Colback ***Garner
***Z.Nagel *Johnson *Mighten
Taylor

Note* The *** are our best players and the * represent our best youth players.

For the Derby fans who have no idea about our perilous position I hope all the above helps.

Wolves...well the youth players would have learned a lot. Just a shame they won't get to try the new skills out until our Third round FA Cup exit.

My prediction 2-0 to Derby with CHs squad...4-1 with mine (which will never be proven so it doesn't matter!!)

COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t think we will be seeing much of Bong or Carvalho in future games

Bong is an awful defender but isn’t that bad going forward. Why don’t we play Grabban in the 10 role as surely he’s better than Carvalho.

Not saying much is it though. I don’t think I would have either in starting line up.

I’ve got real reservations about Mighten, to me offers very little, for a speed merchant he gets caught quite easily, and his delivery is often poor.

I’m sure that with a lifetime spent in the game CH knows what is missing. Whether he can put it right remains to be seen.

Yeah, he just isn’t good enough simple as that. He gives his all for sure and can’t fault him for that. But the quality isn’t really there at the moment. Needs to improve a lot and if we get the right players in he won’t get a sniff.

I’d rather have Mighten who tries and gives his all for the team than have Carvalho who just puts on a shirt and walks around anonymously for an hour before being replaced

Carvalho’s contribution when he’s been on the pitch is verging on disgraceful

Still not sure why Bong started. I know he got the assist but he was caught out so many times again.

We improved when Mighten came on (Carvalho was awful again) and when we had Grabban and Taylor on the pitch. Just a whole lot more comfortable going forwards than sticking to the ultra-defensive.

Had we started with Mighten and Grabban / with a settled Lowe in for Bong then I think we would have won that.

I thought Derby looked great first half. Barring injuries and a nine-point deduction then I think they will stay up.

I also believe Forest will stay up if CH / the new manager let's us actually attack and try to win.

I still think we need a new manager and a point away to Derby isn't enough to keep him in his job.

Great to see Worrall back. He made a big difference. Hopefully we can add a couple of players without losing our best talent.

I’d prefer to see him play through the middle either as a lone striker or alongside Taylor. I’m sure he would force mistakes out of CBs like Davies and Jagielka who don’t have a lot of pace.
