Morning gents
Happy Friday to you all
Reports yesterday suggest that we are in fairly advanced talks with Watford for the permanent sale of Sissoko with Aurier to join Lille if Celik leaves. This is looking highly likely.
Very good news which opens up two key positions in the squad.
As we all know, Paratici negotiates with up to 10 players for each position so don’t be surprised to see the trigger pulled quickly once they’re out the door.
With 5 days left of the window and certain big moves starting to happen we will start to see a domino effect and some huge movement across the leagues.
Ideally we still need a new Striker, CM, DM, CB & RB
With Papee Sarr singing (and loaned back) I believe that’s our DM sorted albeit for next year.
I can’t see us singing a striker but you never know.
I believe we will likely bring in Tomiyasu who can play both right and centre back.
Then we are rumoured to be linked with Moriba, Aour and Traore.
Either way, it’s going to be an exciting end to the window for Spurs and I can see some big deadline day deals happening
I still hold up that the majority of Spurs fans will be happy with our squad by the end of the window. It won’t be perfect but I’m confident there are a few quality / exciting singings that may surprise you
COYS
Sissoko & Aurier finally off?

i reckon we use these names as smokescreens for our main targets
bit like city did with kane when they actually wanted grealish and just swooped in from nowhere and got him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Grealish was linked to them months ago as was Kane. They were their main two targets. Talksport broke the news about Grealish during or before Euros.

I don’t see Ndombele going anywhere at this late stage.
If we can shift Sissoko and Aurier and get say £25m for them, then I’d love to see us bring in Tomiyasu who can cover RB and CB, and Auoar for some MF creativity as I don’t think we can rely on a player that doesn’t wanna be here (Tanguy). Traore for me would be a bonus signing, but I don’t see it as a priority given we have Son, Moura, Bergwijn and Gil and would rather we focused our supposedly limited budget on essential areas so we can achieve some balance in the squad rather than being top heavy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You never know with Ndombele. Since he put that picture of an egg timer next to him and Kane way back when, one would hope both his agent and the club have been working behind the scenes.
I would imagine we may have to subsidize his wages as long as we get a fee which we are happy with. That's my hope anyway. Or a loan with option to buy.

According to a lot of reports I was reading yesterday we apparently offered Wolves a £5m loan fee for Traore, which they immediately turned down. If true that’s a joke, how can we ever expect to get business done if we just take the pizz out of other clubs with insulting offers? And yet, get affronted by lowball offers from the likes of City for our players.

Levy's mantra has always been sell high and buy low lol.
Wasn't it a £5m loan fee with an option or obligation to buy for £40m in total? If so no drama.

I would take issue with you on this.. we are likely structuring deals that way because we have to (e.g. romero). we were massively impacted by covid.. more so than other clubs because we lost all the concert and psorts events at the stadium revenue too, which would have been in previous forecasts.
we are likely structuring deals that way because we know that this season we will have revenue from these things, so are in a position where we can make future financial committments with more certainty, but need to be a bit more prudent with current / up front fees, probably for FFP, but more likely just our of general good financial running of the business as a going concern.
it cant be a coincidence that this is the first time we have widespread tried to use these kind of deals (only occasionally in the past), aligned to when we are getting out of the covid impact.
OR
we know we will sell Kane next summer so are backloading the outgoing fees so that they will offset some Kane income.
Spurs have a 30th June Y/E, so that might be the case

I know the reason why we are doing it and I have no objection to us backloading deals so that we can tie final payments in with projected revenue ie at the end of a season of full stadiums and when we cash in on Ndombele and Kane, that is sensible.
What isn’t sensible is making other clubs such derisory offers for their best players that we must surely know will be rejected - especially when we’ve rejected equally derisory offers for our best player. Traore has 2 years left on his deal so Wolves will prob be agreeable to selling but not if we offer them a £5m loan fee with a obligation to buy. They’ll need to replace him and we’re working to a tight deadline now with 4 days til the window closes. A more sensible loan fee would get this deal over the line, rather than fack them off. We’ve missed out on other quality players, such as Grealish, because of Levy’s lowball tactics and look what he’s just sold for. We have to get the balance right between financial pragmatism and making ourselves unattractive to deal with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
probably just an initial lowball / poorly structured deal to unsettle the player, in the same way city did to us with Kane...
I have no doubt that the player wants to come.
We should really just wait until the deadline closes and assess the business... the liklihood is that we, and certainly these bellllend clueless clickbait writing article caaant journos dont have a clue whats really going on.
