Allegri confirms Ronaldo is to leave Juve

Ronaldo has told Juve he won't play for them again!

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri says Cristiano Ronaldo has told the club he "no longer has any intention" to play for the Italian side.

Ronaldo, 36, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City, has been left out of the squad to face Empoli on Saturday.

Juventus are yet to receive an official bid for the Portugal forward.

"[Ronaldo] gave his contribution, he made himself available, now he leaves and life goes on," said Allegri.

On Wednesday, Juventus told Ronaldo they are willing to sell him during the transfer window - but only if their conditions are met by interested clubs.

Manchester City are one of the teams to have made contact with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes, with some reports suggesting personal terms have already been agreed.

Allegri continued: "Yesterday, Cristiano told me that he no longer has any intention to play for Juventus. For this reason he will not be called up for tomorrow's game.

"Things change, it's a law of life. Juventus remains, which is the most important thing.

"He is to be thanked for what he has done, also as an example amongst the youngsters. But as I said, we must go on."

According to reports Ronaldo informed his Juventus colleagues he was set to leave this month after two years at the 36-time Serie A champions.

He then drove to the training ground on Friday morning but left before taking part in the session.

A week ago, Allegri said Ronaldo had "never expressed a desire to leave" Juventus, and that the player had told him he was staying at the Allianz Stadium.

Ronaldo himself called media speculation about his future "a disrespect for me as a man and as a player" in a lengthy Instagram post a few days earlier.

The five-time Ballon d'or winner started on the bench on Sunday as Juventus drew their league opener against Udinese.

Sainsburys clothes are quite cheap; I imagine Ronaldo could kit out his whole wardrobe without it touching his bank balance much.

Hold your horses sunshine. Ole has now refused to rule out a move for Ronaldo and Pep has said that a deal for him is still 'far away'.

=-=====================

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to rule out a sensational late move for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has informed Juventus of his intention to leave the club and his representatives have held advanced discussions with Manchester City.

The five-times Ballon d'Or winner's willingness to move back to Manchester has raised the possibility of a United homecoming 12 years on from when Ronaldo left the club.

Solskjaer admitted he did not think Ronaldo would leave Juve this summer and said the United great 'knows we're here'.

"I didn't think Cristiano was gonna turn out leaving Juventus," Solskjaer said. "And it's been speculation this morning and the last few days.

"We focus on the ones we have there, I don't want to speculate too much on Cristiano, what's happening there with the press.

"I've said many times with speculation, when you're Man United, when you're Ronaldo, when you're Messi, when you're Pogba, when you're Bruno, you have to read a lot about yourselves. So let's see what happens with Cristiano, he's such a legend of this club.

"Cristiano has been a legend of this club, he is a legend of this club, he's the greatest player of all time, if you ask me. I was fortunate enough to play with him, I coached him (in 2008) when I got my job. He almost retired me in that Wolverhampton game (in 2003) when I got injured because he kept switching sides!

"Such a tremendous human being, as well. Let's see what happens with Cristiano. Everyone who's played with him has a soft spot for him.

"I could've been in that box and scored- a few, the ones he scored just tap-ins and stuff," Solskjaer laughed at the suggestion Ronaldo would be a handy goalscorer. "As I said earlier, he's probably the greatest player of all time, arguably, him and Messi, but then it is what it is."

Pep Guardiola says Cristiano Ronaldo will decide his own future and that a possible Manchester City move is "far, far away".

But the Blues boss also teased supporters by saying that "anything could happen" before the window closes in four days' time.

Guardiola was asked about the chances of the Juventus superstar signing before Tuesday's transfer deadline, but emphasised that he is more than happy with his current squad of players.

The Blues switched their attention to the Portugal superstar after prime target Harry Kane announced on Thursday that he was staying at Tottenham. Reports that the player had boarded a private jet today heightened speculation that he was about to link up with City.

"I cannot say much," he said. "Harry Kane announced he continues at his club, exceptional club like Tottenham.

"Cristiano was at Juventus, I think a Juventus player. Only I can say that in three or four days left in the transfer window everything can happen.

"In my personal view there are few players, Ronaldo and Messi included, that they decide where they are going to play. They are the leading role in the negotiations. Right now I'm delighted with the squad we have and we'll stay the same.

"There are many things right now that are far, far away."
