So we have the ability and funds to buy Ronaldo and yet not sign a midfielder for 4 years which we absolutely need.
Don't get me wrong Ronaldo is an absolute GOAT and he will end up banging ~20 goals this season if we sign him but we need a DM for crying out loud. We currently have 6 world class players in our first XI but we also have 3 absolutely championship level donkeys in Lindelof, Fred and AWB ( Dan James too) which means we won't be winning any trophies under Ole.
How Ole is going to line up next month is going to be interesting with Pogba being his best on the left. What happens when Ronaldo takes up his place there, Sancho/Greenwood is guaranteed on the right. Who plays up top? Cavani is out for 1/3rd of the season and Martial/ Rashford if sold tomorrow won't raise any eyebrows.
Signing Ronaldo is great et all. Would be amazing seeing him grace the pitch especially while SAF is still alive. However we need a DM for crying out loud. And please no Ruben Neves/ Ndidi/ Hojberg. They are worse than what we have. Ole's management skills will be tested. The best time to sack him was after the Europa final but now he is here Ole has till December to have us challenging for the PL/CL and also win either FA/EFL cup.

So is Fred but even a donkey can cover ground and put tackles. Nididi isn't objectively better than Fred and I'll be horrified if we ever sign him .

If you are disgusted by Fred, Ndidi will make you jump off the terrace. He is even more limited on the ball than Fred

Ndidi is one of the best defensive mid's in the world. Yeah he's not Carrick or Xabi Alonso at passing, but in terms of tackling, interceptions, covering ground and breaking up play he's world class.
He's numbers are in the top percentile for all of these things.
We have enough goal scores, we need exactly a player like Ndidi
Win it back, pass it on

Plus he's positionally great, compared to Fred who yes runs a lot but not always in the right places. Having someone as good as Ndidi would actually allow us to play Pogba and Bruno both ahead of him. The whole reason we have to play McFred is in the hope that between the two of them they can form 1 good DM.

This isn’t true, though. It’s just Ole’s preference for the midfield, particularly because we use at least one full back to join the attack. And Ndidi would make life even harder progressing the ball. It’s bad enough watching AWB try to build up play, having his Nigerian brother in there with him would be even worse.

I want to pull my hair out when Fred/ Dan James/ AWB even touch the ball. Can't believe AWB and Fred are still first choice making 40-50 appearances for us.
