Rodrigo
Llorente
Raphinha
Dallas
Cooper
Phillips
Klich
Meslier
Ayling
Harrison

A couple of those salaries may have increased with new contracts over the summer but this does still show how much of a disadvantage we are at in this league.
We will have to be patient with the club and have long term targets. Top 7 in a few years is the target and achievable but very difficult.
Top 4 will require years of growing our revenue, and years of nailing the transfer market buying under value and selling over value to get anywhere near. The size of the challenge is huge.
Ronaldo rumoured to be getting £480k/week

480k is small fry compared to what Messi gets!

I could be wrong, but aren’t MU’s owners in millions of pounds worth of debt? If they are, how come they can pay such enormous wages and buy new players for about 4 or 5 times the cost of our most expensive player? Our club nearly went under with just 100k debt.
I just don’t understand it.

Share value of the club increased to day by well over £200 million.
Ronaldo isint messi at Barcelona where his wage was crippling the club.
The move will play for itself

I don't think it's Messi's wage that was crippling Barcelona.

Wonder if the obligatory Dan James rumours will resurface now.

I’m always very suspicious of those news stories saying that these moves pay for themselves. The stats on shirt sales are usually rubbish and the percentage the club earn from it tiny anyway. Manchester United’s Commercial revenue has been constantly just under £300m/year. If next years this shoots up by £40m then that will justify it.

Dan James would be our third highest paid player behind Rodrigo & Raphinha if we gave him same wage he’s on now. It’s madness!!!

Faith
Didnt say i want him. Never really rated him.

I didn’t say you did Outwood???
Just adding to the point made in the article that the wages the clubs at the top can pay are ridiculous.
I’d be tempted to take him on loan with option to buy. Similar to Harrison deal where we are in control. But Man U would have to agree to pay at least 50% of the remainder of his contract as well.

James would have been a good signing at the time, but it’s past now.
Don’t think he’s good enough and wouldn’t start for me

Hinestly I agree with this.
Had we signed him on the day where Swansea basically screwed him over by not taking that call to finalise the deal I think he would be a regular for us.
He would have got loads of playing time on the left under bielsa.
However it fell apart and Harrison took on that role and has improved so much so that he looks, at least to me, to be one of the best left wingers in the league.
Why would we spend such a huge sum on a player who wouldn't unseat Harrison in the side.
Harrison took a little while to settle, but what a player he is now.
