What was the point of signing these youngsters of they were going to go out on loan? Especially as we needed first team reinforcements?

Yet our fans complain we never make money on players and Chelsea have loads of income from their loaned assets.

Amad was worth taking a chance on at that price, and there was no guarantee the club would buy Sancho. I imagine he was part of a raft of different plans and contingencies.

In two years when we could have a front three of Rash, Greenwood and Sancho we'll still need other options too. That's where Amad hopefully comes in. If he develops elsewhere and comes back a more rounded player that's a win.
