Empoli also had many chances to put the game to bed earlier. The defeat leaves them in 13th position.
After the goal - substituting Morata, Kulusevski , and Locatelli sparked zilch

Locatelli had one good game for Italy in the Euros. He was later dropped by Mancini. Then Arsenal tried to sign him. I have no idea how many more warning signs Juventus needed!

You're talking as if Juve never lost a game Ronaldo played in.
Juventus have many problems in their squad - getting rid of an ageing player who was costing them between 30 and 50 million a year is just one of them. An average squad age of over 28 is another problem, and selling Ronaldo will give them the opportunity to address both situations. Juve need to invest in new players - like it or not, the instant success Ronaldo gave them in the first couple of seasons hindered the balanced development of their squad and stopped the further development of players such as Dybala who went from MVP to playing deeper roles or out wide.
This is not Ronaldo's fault. He did his job more than well enough. But balancing and developing a squad is a difficult business and sometimes you sacrifice too much for short term gains.

Ronaldo wasn't just brought in for CL success.
He was also brought in to elevate the team and make it more attractive for sponsors and other marketing purposes. Rugani for instance has been at the club for ages and spent time out in loan and isn't really at the level of Player Juventus want. Or Demiral, who's now out on loan at Atalanta.
They need to reinvest into the team as well a slower the age. Ronaldo was sticking a plaster on top of the issues and it wasn't even the right fit.
This defeat though, means nothing. They'll be up there again as they're like Bayern Munich in Germany, you won't see them without a title for long.
The issue was that other signings during this time were given high wages but were not successes. Rabiot and Ramsey for instance. Others struggled initially like Di Ligt. Others signed to come in didn't hit the heights of the older players.

Juventus were like a one man team last season with Ronaldo. Now they are screwed as they have no one good enough to replace him with now.
Ronaldo got Juventus top 4 and Napoli missed out lol. Napoli bottled top 4 in dramatic fashion.

Juventus actually finished top on expected points last season when they finally didn't win the league but in previous years they won the league without being top on expected points. Football a funny old game.

Well I called it Juventus were like a one man team last season. No wonder Ronaldo left as he was carrying Juventus by himself and was getting no respect or love. He knew it was time to go back where he would be respected and loved again.
