Ronaldo

"Everyone who knows me, knows about my never ending love for Manchester United. The years I spent in this club where absolutely amazing and the path we’ve made together is written in gold letters in the history of this great and amazing institution.

I can’t even start to explain my feelings right now, as I see my return to Old Trafford announced worldwide. It’s like a dream come true, after all the times that I went back to play against Man. United, and even as an opponent, to have always felt such love and respect from the supporters in the stands. This is absolutely 100% the stuff that dreams are made of!

My first domestic League, my first Cup, my first call to the Portuguese National team, my first Champions League, my first Golden Boot and my first Ballon d’Or, they were all born from this special connection between me and the Red Devils. History has been written in the past and history will be written once again! You have my word!

I’m right here!
I’m back where I belong!
Let’s make it happen once again!

PS - Sir Alex, this one is for you…"

I doubt Russian would be unhappy if Ronaldo succeeds, he's just raising his concerns.

Exactly. Any United fan who isn’t concerned about this should have some reservations even if they are minimal.

Why didn't he come back to us instead of going to Juventus? Why weren't we in for him then either? None of this adds up. I think it's a fake Ronaldo. Maybe it's Nani with plastic surgery.

I've said before that I'll admit I'm biased when it comes TO Ronaldo. Him and Rooney were winning things for us during my teens which was a hugely influential period of watching football and progressing from a child like interest to genuine love and passion. The pair of then will always be massive for me and I'm over the moon to have him back, from a personal perspective.

Understand not everyone feels the same and I'm sure that those who are older than me may not have the same adoration, they'll likely have their own Ronaldo in a different player. My lad is just starting to really get into football and asked me a couple of weeks ago who I'd bring in if I could pick anyone and I'd said Ronaldo. Was able to enjoy success that very, very few fans get to experience - certainly no other Premier league team has fans that have watched a player win 3 titles in a row, including a CL and league double, whilst also winning the Ballon Dor. It's a unique experience that I'm very grateful to have been a part of.

It's a transfer that is very unique to our club. I also don't have to build around Juventus links anymore in Ultimate Team which is a bonus.

Signing Ronaldo could be amazing or it could go very badly.

I'm just hoping that he sees coming back as being for the good of the collective and that it's not all about him. The thing is if he can inspire United to a title then that would surely usurp anything Messi does at PSG (unless they win the CL of course).

Greenwood is ahead of Sancho and Rashford right now, by a distance for me. Technically sound, best finisher in the club (at least he was), rarely makes a bad decision.

The only thing Rashford has over him is his directness, which Greenwood is improving.

Early days for Sancho, let's see how that one pans out. However between Rash and Sancho, I reckon one will not reach the standard required.

I do t think we'll necessarily have a set in stone attack. We have the options to rotate based on who we are playing and what we need as well as rest players.

One of the things City have had as a big advtange is one week they can start Mahrez, the next they can start Silva. They can make changes more frequently to keep people fresh or because it makes sense from a tactical perspective.

We can also throw the kitchen sink at teams now. If we have games like Southampton then we could decide to sacrifice a defender or midfielder and have Ronaldo, Cavani, Mason, Sancho and Rashford on to pour forward if we really need a goal..

We want to go deep in 4 competitions and we can't do that with the depth we've had so far. Cavani not being available for any period would have been a killer, particularly if we had even just one injury to our attackers.

A very important point most haven't picked up on. In the previous two seasons, we've looked really leggy toward the end of the season, and it appeared Ole didn't trust his other options.
