Forsyth gets three match ban

Harsh, particularly as the bloke was running around like a spring chicken 30 seconds later.

Make your own mind up.

Like Vidal said, it’s impossible to say what a players intent is, that said m, I said at the time that I thought it was intentional by Forsyth

Anyone remember Buxton smashing Mackie in the face during the 5-0 game? He got away with that 1

If VAR was at the game Forsyth would have shown a Red and he wouldn’t have made the thro’ ball to lawerance.
I’m happy to accept the 3 game ban because it’s a better outcome than him being sent off early in the game.

It isn't impossible to see galvanised nail's intent. Prior to the incident with Forsyth he had about 5 minutes rolling on the floor after a challenge in order to try and stop play. When play was eventually stopped he was made to leave the pitch for 2 seconds, but as soon as he was allowed on a Jesus saves miracle occurred and he was running around like a spring chicken.

I thought his challenge from behind on Forsyth was dangerous and should have been booked. Basically the guy is a cheat. .

We can moan about the Ref missing the hand ball but stretton’s miss and Roos not saving their goal are bigger mistakes for me.

Harsh on Stretton. His shot deflected off the defender’s kneecap and still almost went in.

He should have buried it and not given the defender chance to deflect it

There was an article a couple of years ago about strikers missing what the spectators think are easy chances. In many cases the chances are more difficult than they look from the stands. Stretton was close to a defender and the goal keeper so had no time to pick his spot. He did exactly the right thing by hitting it the way he was facing first time but the Forest player got lucky.

The Forest goal I thought Stretton was to blame as he totally misjudged the cross and was tussling with a Forest player while Johnson had all the time in the world to hit the ball. Roos did well to get a hand to it but it was hit with a lot of pace. A bit like a slip catch where the batsman gets a good contact. The fielder might be able to get a hand to it but if it has too much pace he will spill it.

I have seen far worse misses than Stretton's (Sammon, Nugent and Waghorn were very wasteful at times) and far worse efforts at saving shots than Roos's.

Stretton's goal against P'boro took a slight deflection off the body of a defender, which probably took it away from the keeper's reach and into the net.
Small margins.

Harry Kane missed a few chances the other night that were very easy by his standards. Stretton made good contact and 9 times out of ten that goes in. How great would that have been! I thought Spart was harsh on Stretton for Forest's goal - I didn't think that the Forest player who scored was the one Stretton was supposed to be marking but then I don't know who was supposed to be covering the back post. A lot of our defence at set pieces seems to be zonal. 9 times out of 10 Roos saves that shot. So with the events at both ends I reckon we have been on the wrong end of a 1% chance of not winning that game but that's how it goes sometimes. As Spart has often said, Martin's defensive contributiion was often under-estimated but then he was generally positiioned at the front post.

So players can make mistakes but Referees can’t
