Jesse

In very unexpected news, Jesse has turned down a new contract from the club because he wants assurances about playing time with the World Cup coming up.

Why we couldn’t just lower our price demands for this guy when Wet Spam were sniffing around I’ve no idea, he’s clearly not in our plans and with the signing of Cristy he will be way down the pecking order. Wasted opportunity of making some money on an unwanted asset.

Bailly’s smart, gets paid for doing fack all at one of the biggest clubs in football. What else is he going to do? Take less and sit on the bench for Brentford?

He spends about half his time in the physio room actually.

Good on the lad. I hope he gets a move in Jan that works for him.

Looks like Jesse has outsmarted the club.

How does it look like that? Genuinely interested as to how your mind comes to that conclusion.

Shame it's reached this point. Best for Jesse's long term future he finds another club, no role for him at Utd.

In most likelihood he'll walk away on a Bosman now. We should have accepted whatever West Ham offered.

If WH were not prepared to cough up 20 million then they couldn’t have been that interested.

This smells like a set up by Jessie.
I mean he must of known his time would be limited. Says he’s willing to fight for his spot.
Then the Window closes. Oh NOW he’s concerned about playing time, cool ‘I’ll leave on a free, and get my last big contract pay out’

Maybe I’ve been watching too many conspiracy theory Docs of late…. Still, if this was his plan, I can’t blame him. I mean, UTD offering a contract is the same game. The hustle is the hustle…

Lingard He is not even as smart as Daniel Hamez.

He will either get enough game time and sign a new contract and if not, he know's he's worth more free. He can walk away and get a big signing on fee and better wages if there is no transfer fee.

Not too far from what Pogba's position is. When a player signs a contract they aren't under any obligation to extend that, leave to ensure the club gets a fee etc.

He is perfectly entitled to turn down a contract whilst he waits to see how much playing time he gets and if it isn't what he's happy with or he's not given as much time as was suggested etc then there's nothing unreasonable in leaving on a free. He's seen out his contract and fulfilled the obligation he made when he signed it.

Just as the club have every right to not offer a new contract or accept an offer for transfer etc. He's doing what I suspect a majority of us on here would do.
