If we are going to try Donny in a midfield two, the last thing we should do is pair him with someone else we’re not sure can play in a two. If Donny plays where you’ve got him this season, I’d guess it will be alongside Fred, Matic or McTominay, at least to start with.

Mctominay is injured mad it’s touch and go if Fred is available because of the missing the Brazil game.

Yes, I don’t mean for this game. I doubt we’ll be seeing Donny in a two this weekend regardless of his partner. I’m saying if we do see it this season, I don’t think it’s a good idea to play him alongside Pogba in a two. I reckon he’ll probably feature on Saturday though.

No doubt about it. Who’d you rather have shielding defence though?

Do we really need to be too concerned with shielding our defence against the mighty Newcastle of a Steve Bruce?

Maguire, Varane, Donny, Pogba, Bruno is a pretty solid, hard hard working spine.

I'd agree with this and also add that I think Newcastle are massively up against it just because of the atmosphere, the crowd will be mental and the players will be absolutely up for it.

I'd be shocked if we saw anything similar to the last couple of games. Could end up with egg in my gave but I can see us battering them. Exactly the type of game I think we could play a 3 with Donny, Pogba and Bruno.
