Losing interest in Spurs

Funny thing to say as a season ticket holder, but I've only watched us play once this season (was away for the City game ). I used to try and plan social events around spurs games so I could watch wherever possible, but now I don't bother.

I really don't care much about us winning or losing, but I do care about us entertaining. I want to enjoy watching us play, whether we come 5th or 9th. Since summer 2019 it's been depressing. Poch sacked after his first bad run in 5 years then replaced by a man who sucked all life out of the club, then the managerial farce this summer where we got rejected left, right and centre and ended up with the most defensive manager available.

I personally will not blame Nuno if things go wrong. He is what he is. A Mourinho disciple, who plays very negative football, everyone (bar Levy apparently) knew that. He is a solid manager and will probably guide us to a decent 6th/7th place finish, but it's going to be very boring and already I'm zoning out.

It's quite sad that I'm looking forward more to watching Leeds v Liverpool today more than any spurs game. I can already see a toxic atmosphere next week when Lukaku and Chelsea brush us aside without laying a glove on them.

Sandy just goes against the consensus opinion. If enough people start saying that Spurs will win the title this season, he will start claiming they'll be in a relegation battle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed and I said too Sandy we would drop points v Palace. I just knew we shouldn’t get too excited because apart from the one or City game, we have been largely dog s**. We got totally battered v Wolves and we were no better v Watford. Yesterday was so predictable. Palace had the heart, fight and desire. They completely deserved their win against what is a bang average Spurs side. Even with our players back, we are still bang average. We are finishing no higher than 9th like I keep saying
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's hard to imagine how we improve that much on last season. I mean sure our defence may end up a bit better with the new additions although they may need time to get going. Ultimately we've lost goals on last season now we have weakened our attack and that will count against us too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Said it all along Spurtle. We got rid of 2 forward players and haven’t replaced them. We are relying on a 16/17 year old rookie striker as our back up. How is that acceptable for a top club mate ? I said yesterday, if Son is injured and Kane isn’t on it, then we might as well just forfeit the game. We have literally 0 threat upfront apart from those 2. P ** poor management in the market as usual.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know mate. Without Bale, Vinicius, Lamela, and seemingly Ndombele, we have lost 30 goals on last season which is not far off a third of all that we scored. Lucas, Dele, and Berg don't look like getting any more than they usually do. The way it's going with Kane he'll score even fewer. He either drops too deep or gets isolated due to the style of football. When we don't have Son he's less effective.

It was and still is so obvious we need other goal scorers in the team.

Has Sandy asked for comments to be switched off for his own article?

Nope, luckily you have been filtered.

OP

LOL how can a Spurs supporter say they would prefer to watch Leeds v Liverpool to Spurs.

I take it you are one of the johnny come lately suppoters of the past decade, if that.

You do know you support your club through thick and thin, through good and bad, through wins and losses.

Some supporter you turned out to be.

Just out of interest, how long have you actually been supporting Spurs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm 32 and have had a season ticket most of the time since I was 8/9

Am I allowed to have an opinion based on that?

As I said 'm not fussed about winning or losing, but I hate negative boring football, and that's all we have seen for two years now.

Potter was the obvious choice in the summer, instead it's another season of tedium.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Negative, boring football won Leicester a title, are you saying you would not have been happy with that? There is more than one way to play football, you do know that. Not every team can play like peak Barca.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but our very own chairman said we would go back to an attacking, exciting brand of football. Fans have a right to complain about this. But don't waste your time getting on Nuno's back, he's a nice guy just doing his job the way he sees fit. Blame the people that brought him to the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fans have no right to complain just because Spurs lost one game out of four. And that was because of very mitigating circumstances.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You absolute fuсking hypocrite, why did you go on a mass filtering spree after yesterdays result and now tell other Spurs fans they're not allowed to complain about the result.

Also, after all the bоlloсks you posted last season decrying Liverpool's injury crisis you don't get to use 'mitigating circumstances' as an excuse.

Can someone quote this comment so the crusty old codger can see it.

Sandy thinking of leaving this board because its toxic, sugest he joins a schoolboy group, probably find the same level of intelect and sure they would be more susceptible to his idiotic posts

I gave up any major expectations long ago, I thought the Poch years had seen us turn a corner, but it turns out we just got lucky with a perfect storm of players hitting their peak and the emergence of Kane, Dele etc.

ENIC remain and continue to fail to invest at the required levels, we will not win anything any time soon with these parasites running the club. Their business model will not deliver trophies and we will be waiting years for any potential knock on effect of increased stadium revenue,

I for one, am not prepared to wait any longer, and want rid of these owners in exchange for some who are prepared to push the boat out to make us competitive.

Nothing ever changes at Spurs, we just go around in circles and never actually achieve anything. This is the result when we are a business first and a football club second.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion, nobody said you were not. But I get the impression you are just a fair weather supporter, only interested when Spurs are winning, and not interested when they lose. Your call though fella, you do what you want.

I know it's seen as being disloyal etc but I feel similiar to what Gil is saying. I feel its abit of a "chore" at the moment with Spurs. Doesn't feel like there is alot of hope or optimism around the club and the football is literally the worst football out of any team in the PL.

I still have my ST but I now also go and watch my local non league side. They honestly play more attractive football and I never feel short changed.

Il never stop supporting Spurs, but I will admit when it's tough. I know Spurs have had far worse sides than this, but this feels as bad as its been the last few years since I have been a supporter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh come on Bake em, the atmosphere at WHL for the City and Watford games was out of this world. There was absolutely not a negative vibe in the ground.

The only negativity I always seem to see is on this board.

I am seriously thinking of leaving this board for good. It is so toxic.
