Pogba

Granted it was only Newcastle but, how many assists does he have now this season? Seems to me he's playing well over all and there's not much praise going his way so far. I suppose it's still very early days but I think he's performed and deserves a small article of praise going his way

One assist was a sideways pass for Bruno to score from 25 yards tbf

--------------------------------------------------------------

It is ridiculous what counts as an assist.

But it's been like this for ages.

Remember people creaming themselves at the number of Fabregas assists at Chelsea one season.

This included a sideways pass to Hazard on the touchline. He cut inside, beat 3 or 4 players and put in the bottom corner. Commentator creaming himself 'yet another assist from Fabregas!'.

In fairness Fabregas generally laid them on a plate

‘expected assists.’

Jesus Christ.

Who cares about the stats, just enjoy how he’s started this season.

These stats show he's linking up well with the team and maybe that might make him stay with Utd beyond this season. If he goes, then fack his stats.

On a wider note, people were complaining that Newcastle got past us with ease a couple of times... I think this is a tactical risk we are willing to take to allow Pogba to operate further up the field. Too risky against big teams, but against the like of Newcastle, it should be ok and the defence will mop up most of the danger as they get used to each other.

I see the same people complaining about this whilst still screaming for the manager to station Pogba up with Bruno and play with a single central defensive midfielder

I'm happy with that trade off in games we should be winning.

I also think the main thing Ronaldo will give us, even more than his undoubted on pitch quality, is his winning mentality. I liked the fact he talked about winning the PL yesterday. Putting a bit of pressure on these players to take that final, winning, step isn't a bad thing and the next stage of the squad's evolution.

…….

Do you think we should play with more than one?

Feasible under Graham Taylor-style hoofball.

To be fair to the Bitters, Leicester committed to that yesterday.

It's kind of sad people are only appreciating Pogba now he's had to break an assist record. He's been creating these chances for years, only for players like Ibra to miss point blank sitters.

We also weren't defensively weak because of him. He made 6 ball recoveries and 3 tackles.

When Matic and Pogba play it's too open. When Fred and McT play, it's too negative.

It's time to start blaming the coaches instead of the players. The way they set up the team will cost us the fine margins.

No. Players take the blame as much as the coaches.

We have quality all over the pitch, if we have to schit our selves because of a Newcastle counter, there's only one group of people to blame.

There are teams in the bottom half of the table who are set up better than us but suffer because they can't afford the quality needed on the pitch.

Tuchel, a man who has the quality needed, was able to transform the way Chelsea play within a matter of month's.

We've been waiting how long now?

Ole needs to do him self a favour and sack Carrick and McKenna, or it will be his head on the chopping block.

There's nowhere to hide now.

Once again the most constructive player on the park.

Strangely unnoticed.

Not really a problem, real observers of the beautiful game know that.
