Thoughts from today

Probably the worst performance from Leeds since promotion.

Just don't look like Leeds of last season.

Sloppy passing, not getting to byline, creating very few chances, defence has gone backwards.

I don't see that much from Striujk and today was a an awful challenge from a big defender trying to get back, with Llorente injured again we're now really stretched at the back.

Thought Firpo looked a bit better today, Rodrigo looking more like a costly misfit and Roberts just too bit part.

One big worry for me is Raphinha, he is delivering so little at present, was expecting him to be much more influential.

Lots of talk from commentary team about second season syndrome and it being mentioned by Leeds executives. The reality is we've had an awful start to the season, and are only 2 late equalisers away from being on zero points.

A lot of work to be done.

Finally, the injury to Elliott is something no one wants to see and hope that he makes a full recovery.

Spot on, Jonty.
We can talk about only being a couple of points off where we were last season against these teams, but we are nothing like the team we were. If Liverpool had taken half of their chances, they would have hammered us.
I think we have lost key members of our squad, the guys who knew Bieslaball and kept us on task - Pablo, Alioski, Bera - we need to catch our breath and regroup. At the moment, we look like we've forgotten the basics, the things that made us so successful last season. The next three fixtures will tell us more about this team than the last four. I would be happy with at least a win and a draw.

I’ve seen the Struijk "tackle" again and if that's a red we may as well go home and start knitting ffs

Just bad luck on the Liverpool kid.
He showed too much of the ball and Struijk said thank you very much. Just a freak occurence. Ref didn't see anything wrong with it initially. Struck already an excellent footballer and will only get better.
Not sure what all the fuss is about regarding our start to the season, early days ffs!

Exactly how Elliott sees it. Not Pascal’s fault and not a red card. Just an accident. His words on Instagram, not mine.

Klopp should apologise. He’s a grown man and an experienced coach. He should not be entering the field of play to influence the ref - especially when he’s already stated that he didn’t see the tackle.

I doubt anything will be done though. Bielsa has said as much that we won’t be appealing. More out of respect to Elliott I think.

Anyway - after that - maybe Struijk will benefit from some time out of the limelight.

BBC reporting that we've lodged an appeal against Struijk's red. I think we should. Not malicious intent.

Good we’ve appealed. There have been far worse tackles gone unpunished this season (most from Burnley).

Some saying he had two feet off the ground and that justifies a straight red. That might go against him but I don’t think he was out of control at all. The lads foot just ended up in an unnatural position and Struijk’s trailing knee fell on it.

Accident but I don’t expect the PL will see it that way.
