Forest v Boro - MatchThread

A glorious, if not windy spring morning in Sydney. It's going to rain later, so I'll be taking Brian (my cat) into the garden to lap up some sun.

Today as most days I was surprised to see that the useless tool is still in charge. I have a feeling that EM doesn't have the internet / social media. If he does share an interest on anything Forest then his English must be as good as my greek.

Anyway, onto the game. By all accounts, Spence cannot play because Boro is his parent club. Anyone with a brain would put Back at RB, but this is Chris...so....

Samba
Lowe Worrall McKenna Bong
Garner Yates
Lolley Johnson Mighten
Grabban

With a truly shocking bench then I fully expect us to be 1-0 down by half-time (with zero shots on target) and for us to take off our best player. Chris's logic to save him for the weekend. Cafu to come on, Johnson off.

At 2-0 down, I expect another change to be made, Colback coming on for Garner with Colback pushed into a CF role and reverting to nine in defence.

At 4-0 down and with one minute left on the clock then we make our final change. Soh to come on in place of Lowe, reverting to three at the back and three defensive midfielders in Cafu, Colback and Yates. Bong and Grabban up top and a crab-like Lolley marshalling the RW with Mighten on his back.

My team:

Horvath
Back Worrall McKenna Lowe
Garner Fornah
Z.Nagel Johnson Mighten
Grabban

It's a Warnock team, so my team would obviously get feested in to oblivion...but at least Fornah doesn't need nine touches to play the ball sideways and backwards (as does Yates). Bong would obviously be nowhere near the side and Lolley was poor again.

Subs: Samba, Soh, Figs, Colback, Carvalho, Lolley, Silva

Another terrible bench, but we actually have players in their natural positions. We move the ball well and come away with a 2-1 loss. Chris still gets sacked, but the watching Chris Wilder sees enough promise to stick to the same side on Saturday where we get our first win of the season.

My prediction: 3-1 to Boro.

When CH does get sacked it will make no difference. We are being strangled from the top, no investment in players, and for some reason seem to think that creating a smoke screen about developing the ground will appease the fans, what good is a 30,000+’stadium in leagues 1 and 2. He is happier paying Ill deserved compo to failed managers, who don’t deserve it, than purchasing players. Yes it’s time for CH to go, but couldn’t we get some decent caring owners as well.
The whole of the club is basically toxic, top to bottom.

One thing I’d like to state about my above statement, the academy is an exception, they are our shining light and only hope.

This is bang on

I’ve said all along the Redevelopment is a total smokescreen - it’s never gonna happen

Who in their right mind would take this job? Only a rookie I expect and that would be a disaster.

Correct caniggia and therein lies another problem. Who in their right mind would want to try and survive working for people who don’t give a damn, tie your hands behind your back and then expect miracles. It’ll probably be another either unheard of foreigner, or a failed ex-championship manager, I’m sure there are some good managers available but most would run a mile from the lot who own us, unless they need a quick payday.

Agree that sacking CH will make no difference. The new manager will be hampered by EM and Vrentzos same as all managers have been. Relegation pretty much a certainty.

Don't agree the club is toxic from top to bottom though. It is just toxic at the top i.e. the owner and the board with the exeption of Murphy (who probably will pack his bags before christmas anyway)..

There'll be plenty want it, out of work managers always think they can do a job no matter how much evidence points to the contrary.

I suspect it will go to an overseas coach such as Sabri or Montanier

Chris Hughton has been sacked, there is a club statement on the website. Feel sorry for the guy, but why play Lewis Grabban as a deep lying midfielder and push James Garner into a no' 10 role? last night was the first game I've seen for a while, the set pieces were awful. Zinc couldn't put a corner into the box once!
The only thing worse was the camera work, what a mess.

Yeah I meant who in their right mind and is decent would want it. Obviously there are failed managers out of work and unheard of European managers currently working in 3rd tier leagues in Russia and China but we need a top manager and we aren’t going to get one. Biggest issues is we didn’t buy a decent striker and whoever comes in will have to rely on Taylor who is league one standard at most.
