Wasn't sure which board to post this on so went for United as assume it probably gets the most traffic.
What did everyone make of the Kyle Walker non penalty today?

I honestly can't get my head around how that could be overturned?
Even if it's not a red, surely it's still a penalty?
Is VAR still only supposed to overturn the clear and obvious or for certain clubs is it something else?
From the Prem website:
"What qualifies as a “clear and obvious error"?
In testing, there was no unanimity. Different VARs came up with different outcomes.
But the VAR should not be asking, "Do I think it's right or wrong?" The question is, "Is what the match officials have done a clear and obvious error?"
There is a very high bar for that intervention. "

For me it's a penalty and a red but even if there is a bit of doubt it's certainly nothing obvious. Seems like another shocking decision unless I'm missing something but haven't seen much made of it on here or anywhere else

Well basically the Southampton player from behind pushes Fernandes over and kicks his legs and then takes the ball lol. It is basically worse than what Rugby players do. I was shocked play continued and then when there was a goal VAR ignored the foul lol.
It was the most blatant foul of the game. The other one that was ignored was when Greenwood was smashed out the way on the edge of the Southampton box and nothing was given.
It ain’t surprising though. Even last seasons title challenge unravelled as the refs stop giving the correct decisions. Man Utd beat Sheffield United but lost due to wrong Ref decisions. Also Chelsea away last season most blatant handball of the season was ignored as a penalty and our players said they heard them say they didn’t give it as it would cause a media storm if they did even though it was a clear penalty lol.

A clear penalty, walker was cleaned out the player and clearly not made any effort to get the ball.
not sure it's a red as "clear goalscoring opportunity" seems to change all the time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The striker literally slowed down and made the first movement towards Walker.

and?
If a player is running in front of a defender stops and the defender takes him down it's a foul.
The striker does nothing wrong and is cleaned out.

Don’t understand why VAR even went past a review, he was beaten and didn’t play the ball.

Lool at Atkinson today. He is the biggest anti-man utd ref I have seen. The fact with VAR he clearly gets so many wrong decisions against us is insane.

Looked like a pen and given the ref gave it, why go back?

Give him credit...he corrected the

Yeah fair enough. Still, a pen for me and not an obvious mistake.
One of two or three bad decisions this weekend!

How can it be a pen if the player takes Walker put?

What the two of them get up to together after the game is their business. It's still a penalty.

Should have got a yellow for a 2 footed challenge on Kyle
