Liverpool have shown (and even Villa although its still TBC as its so early) that its not always about keeping your best player, but instead about doing the best for the team. Levy is so determined to "not sell to our rivals" that he holds on to players and we go stale:

Dier --> Man U offered £50m. Prob worth £5 now
Dele --> prob worth about £100m at his height. Utter garbage now
Eriksen --> prob worth about £130m, sold for chump change in January to avoid losing on a free
Dembele --> How did we get barely any money for this guy?
Kane --> need I say more
