Chelsea look ominous

Has to be said they do look pretty formidable at the moment.

Only one goal (penalty) conceded in the league.

They’ve already been to Spurs and Liverpool and the only points they’ve dropped were when down to ten men at anfield after a suspect red card.

Liverpool look pretty good but for me Chelsea looked pretty good for the win there before the man sent off and they offered very little against their 10 men. But again the only goal they’ve conceded was against arguably the best team in the league currently.

Us and City seem to blow hot and cold, one week smash a team, the next look disjointed.

Chelsea look even stronger with Lukaku in the team
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This I agree with. People will knock him when he doesn't score. They will knock his first touch. But most of Chelsea's chances yesterday came from him stretching the Spurs back four, leading the line, creating space for the midfielders to run into. It's that which we didn't have last season. He is a true front man and suits our system to a tee.

United cannot control game, despite having good players they simply cannot keep the ball. There's good individuals but as as team United a way off Liverpool, City or Chelsea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
United had 60% possession today. Same as Luverpool against Palace. You sure you mean the problem is that they can't keep the ball?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, United struggle badly to control a game, weet ham invited United on without pressing. Press United and they struggle.

Not against teams who actively try to take it off them, against a Moyes west ham, who are not pressing high of course they can but then so can any team.

Look at it this way, if united could manage the ball well they could have easily done that v young boys even with 10 men, but they couldn't and retreated.

For example last season 0-0 draw v Liverpool United had 34% possession. League Cup semi final v City 31%. 2-0 win v City in the league in March 34%. I could find more examples but it shows that v a team who want the ball United struggle to keep it.

Its how ole wants it he's happy to play the counter attacking game, but it separates United from the likes if City and Liverpool.

But then you get games against pressing teams like Leeds where we had 49% of possession and score 5.

The Young Boys game was a tactical disaster in deciding to concede midfield, I'd write that one off from your analysis.

We do struggle against teams with a low block, and end up with way too many draws, but that's more to do with a lack of guile with the final pass and being very one dimensional and only creating meaningful overloads on the left at times. The double six don't read the game well enough If Matic isn't playing, and if Matic is, there isn't enough energy there, so there's no argument that there's issues. Just saying we can't keep the ball doesn't express them though, that's all.

Think spurs were better in the first half, Chelsea better in the second.

A horrid deflection killed any chance of a comeback.

Too early to tell, Rom is still bumbling about and Havertz and Werner are too inconsistent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What does bumbling about even mean? Guy’s been our best player so far this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you see how many great counter attacking opportunities he wasted at the end?

Another big game passes him by

He created 3 sitters you myopic terd.
