Surely one of the biggest falls from Grace in our premier league history ? How do you go from extremely talented, ferocious young goal machine with all the world at your feet, to this gangly, bang average waste of space that resembles a baby giraffe on ice.
He has not performed for 3 seasons now, so nobody is going to convince me that Dele Ali has what it takes to regain that early career form again, not a chance. Unfortunately, a product of the modern game, where fame and money has clearly got to his head. Instead of focusing on his football, he has just let what talent he once had slip away.
He offers nothing in the games, so effectively itโs like playing with 10 men. Offers zero creativity. Offers zero goal threat. Someone please remind me what the f** Dele Ali does ? And why does Nuno keep starting him ? Itโs no wonder this club is going down the s***tter with players like Ali stinking out the place.
Dele Ali

Also, someone needs to tell Kane he is not at Spurs as a favour to us, he earns millions and needs to start showing his quality again otherwise no one will stump up the money next summer either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure who is going to want him next summer for big money?

Someone won’t get Haaland and if he gets back on with things he will score 20 plus this season again - players that can do that can be counted on one hand

I believe Lo Celso played well, in the role beside Holjberg previously. He gets stuck in, tackles & can dribble with the ball... just pick up too many injuries...
So with Lucas hopefully returning next weekend, I think we should try this line up:
Lloris
Royal Romero Dier Reguilon
Holjberg Lo Celso
Lucas NDombele Son
Kane
Subs:Tanganga Bergwijn Skipp Dele Scarlett Sanchez Gollini

The worry about Alli is that it's not about fitness. The guy covers more ground than any other player each game. For some weird reason he's just lost that ability or instinct to arrive in the box at the right time. Tactically there have been big changes in the last couple of years though. We no longer control games. We no longer hold a high line and play most of our football in the opposition half. That has a dramatic effect on Alli's starting position when we regain possession. If he's working his socks off and he's even so much as 10 yards deeper than he would have been before, that changes the timing of when he makes it into the box. Poch knew how to get the best out of him but let's be honest, his form was dipping long before Jose came in so it's not just a managerial change that caused this. I don't really get it. He wouldn't be the first player to show great promise at an early age and then drift into oblivion. Normally it's injuries, like Michael Owen, that cause it, but sometimes players lose that hunger. Those David Bentley types that just begin to care less. DB always said that when football became more professional and less fun, he lost interest. I can understand that. Some people might have the talent but not the drive to be the best all the time. I'm sure all of us have had moments in our professional lives where we've taken the foot off the pedal a bit. Footballers are no exception. I think Alli might be one of those types. He needs to feel a certain way to play a certain way.
It's a shame but there's no point in selling him now, at his lowest value. It's far better to wait to see if he can rediscover form before pulling the trigger.

Our players have been talking a really good game for decades now.

The problem is that the modern game has little space for the Dele of old.
Players of a similar position, like Havertz, still have to go box to box although their system, with an extra defender & 2 DMs allows them to perhaps ease the defensive responsibility on the likes of Havertz....but that comes at the cost of wingers/wide attackers, of which we have plenty including the inspirational Son. Their width comes from the wing backs and how many times was Alonso in our box?

Kane isn’t doing much at the present either guys!
Is his heart not in it now or just a dip in form

He has been written off so many times in his career and always comes on on top. Just a blip.

Doesn't the fact that he puts himself in positions to be written off so many times, mean there is a problem there then?
Kane is a fantastic player and world class. I expect he will come out of this slump before long too, but sadly even if he does we will already have had this period where he hasn't been on it, and we've suffered because of it.
The real problem though is that we've been too reliant on him all this time. Should have brought in another goal scorer, not only to ease the reliance on Kane but maybe to help raise his game. Not to mention you can afford to play another striker with Kane because he wants to drop deep all the time, which has its own good and bad points.

I think this time it’s different, to me he clearly doesn’t look like he wants to be there. I would seriously consider dropping him for the NLD to try to rattle him a bit and get him going again. He needs to accept that he is with us for the season and that euro comp is winnable even for us, so let’s make the best of it.
