Where we will finish ?

Take your Spurs hat off for a second and honestly, where do you think we will finish this season? I have said it all along and I’ll reiterate that I feel we are getting progressively worse as a team each year. I think 8th or 9th place for us this season unfortunately. I certainly don’t see us finishing any higher than 8th with our lack of goal scorers and creativity.

Until the club start rectifying weaknesses in the squad, we will forever keep falling. The reliance on Harry Kane and Son once again is just becoming a joke now. At least last season despite us being poor, we still had Gareth Bale and Vinicius scoring goals when ever they were selected.

We have literally 0 replacements, so if Son and Kane are either injured or not on it, we don’t have 1 single player that will consistently score in the team. What a sad state of affairs the club have slowly become.

I know people call me negative, but how can anyone be positive when the club do nothing to rectify it? It’s completely pointless doing up our defence if we completely neglect the creativity and forward line aspect. I’m just so sick of this club letting us down

I’ve got a bet on with Sandy that we will finish 15th or lower.

He will owe me a grand if I’m right, I’ll owe him a tenner if I’m wrong.

Losing 3-0 to average sides like palace starts to make me think my half joke might be on…

Don’t think we are quite 15th bad, but wouldn’t be surprised to see us finish 10th, which lets be honest is truly awful. I don’t think this team is that good at all and when you have our only true top players not on it (Kane and Son) we literally have nothing. I’m still sticking with my prediction of 9th. I think Westham and Leicester are definitely better than us. We could easily finish below any of Everton, Villa or Arsenal this season to, as we are certainly no better than any of those 3

If Potter finishes above us with Brighton then Paratici wants sacking for gross incompetence after intelligent fans were calling for him as coach and he picks Nuno.

Did Potter have a release clause? Or you just speculating to justify a sacking?

We have a new backline plus Ndombele Lo Celso and Hojberg that's 7 players that should be playing a progressive style of football...Surely there's no excuse to be playing stagnant Jose hangover football?

It all leads to a back 3 for me. Nuno should accept we have better personnel for a 352

Leave 3 CBs in our half. The other 7 press opposition in their half.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think matching Chelsea up with a back 3 was the clearest opportunity he got to play that system and he chose not to, so I doubt he’ll be looking to do that at all (even tho I personally would like him to). The 433 is so narrow especially with the personnel he plays. The width comes from the two attacking wide men but if they are drifting in and cutting in then that’s it, everyone’s central. And if he doesn’t play Ndombele the middle three are so flat it’s basically like a back 7, hence the brand of football.

As I’ve said already, the fans had had enough of Joseball just from watching it on TV, Jose was lucky the stadium was empty throughout 80% of his tenure, they won’t be accepting another indefinite period of it. Jose has indirectly ensured Nuno won’t get as much patience as he might’ve in other circumstances.

I'm looking more forward to Paratici transfer windows. Nuno needs 2/3 windows before the knives come out. Hope he gets it even though some fans against him already.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That depends purely on results and brand of football.
Joseball MKII will not be tolerated by the fans for another two or three windows, no chance. Results that have us floundering around 9th/10th will not be tolerated by Levy, especially when Nuno wasn’t the number one guy to begin with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember, during the farce that was our managerial search when levy mugged the fans off again around season ticket renewal time saying we will get back to our dna of free flowing attacking football?

Que mass renewal then appointing the cheapest bloke they could find, who is also more defensive than even that walking disaster mourinho

Such a dumb and naive thing to say by Levy. He thinks opposition just sit back and let you do what you want without hard work?

Managers can be bought out of their contracts if they ask to leave, I like Brighton but we are THFC which is on another level, there is no way we couldn’t have prized Brighton’s manager away if we made him our no1 target. Chances are didn’t because his name isn’t fancy enough and because we only seemed interested in out of work (ie cheap) coaches.

We will be top 10 no problems, I think people are getting carried away, Everton got smashed 3-0 at the weekend themselves and were knocked out of the cup by QPR last night, they also have a divisive manager and can’t make proper signings due to FFP. Villa are hit an miss, they lost to Watford. Leicester are struggling and below us, plus now have Europa as well. West Ham’s squad has all the depth of Mafs personality And again I would expect Europe to take its toll.

Brighton will be nowhere near by the end. Arsenal might finish above us, although I still think we are marginally better than them - although that’s not saying much at all.

Can’t see us finishing Lower than 7th or higher than 5th

Chelsea's system employed Lukaku with initially Havertz & Mount behind him. Width from the WBs, and mainly just from Alonso as the other guy did not venture forward much.

If we do away with width and employ a creative but hard working pair behind Kane then Son misses out. Unless you make Son the target and have Kane working harder in AM role.

But this only matches Chelsea by system not, player attributes. It works so well for them as they play off Lukaku so effectively. SO if we did this with Kane, we lose Son and if we make Son the target then he aint holding the ball up.

Chelsea have three wide players who do not get a kick

Its not just as simple as matching up formations,
