As an older person, I recall the crushes in packed stadia and how scary they were.
I also found standing at lower league pre-season friendlies a bit uncomfortable on the old back.
I will continue to want to sit when I attend games.
What is everyone else's view

Safe standing

As a teenager, I bloody loved the crush of the kop end at Elland Rd. Especially the surge when we scored. Of course, as a 60+ it would frighten the life out of me now. So yes, it's horses for courses and all about choice. Bring it on!

I'm you could class as in the older generation, and I used to love standing, loved it so much that when I attend games here I still stand!..
Hate having to sit down, but suppose being in the same age group as Lorra the day will come when I have no choice, untill then I'll stand as often as I can!.

They’ll keep seating areas, don’t think they’ll change them all. I imagine it will be standing behind goals and seated in family and west. Like ace says, it will be with rails and much different to how it used to be.
Issue now is everyone in the kop and south are stood all game and people fall all over when there’s a goal because of the seats right there that no one even uses, think it will be much safer.

We have been standing in my area at Chelsea for a few years now, not officially of course. This season we had our seats change so the is a barrier in front of us now, which is nice, I can lean on that through the match. I'm all for it. The seats are still there, I sit at half time.

I grew up watching my local club also, with around 300-500 attending every game.
Prior to paying to enter to watch, I gained an initial interest by climbing a wild elderberry tree at the back the stand located behind the goal, with a view over the its roof! With regards to sitting there was just the main stand, so standing to watch football seemed second nature when I went to my first Elland Road game. I guess having started out by climbing a tree, the hazards of watching football at a stadium were probably second nature to me!
Reflecting on proposals to bring back standing, it seems
we’re mostly of the same consensus that it comes down to a mix of preference and age!
I wonder if there was an ‘over 50s’ safe standing section, how many takers you’d get…. 🤔😳😒🤣
Would you be up for it Elsbels?

Will there have to be remedial works to the stands that will be accommodating the standing areas? I can't remember if Celtic had to put additional structural supports in but imagine they might have to if thousands of fans are bouncing away.

safe standings is welcome & needed, safe standing is safe just as the name says....pens of 30 to 40 in each block, the days of the rush is long gone....been to loads of games which has been like a mosh pit...not enjoyed but this will be fine

I stood at Oakwell in the middle of January. We lost 1-0. No-one told me you could catch pneumonia by watching Barnsley.
