Sunderland v Bolton Wanderers

Bolton make the trip to the stadium of light for a top 8 clash in the Phil Parkinson derby. Feels a proper big game this. Sunderland in 2nd place with 5 wins from 7 and Bolton in 8th after an inconsistent start 3 wins out of 8. A long history of fixtures between the clubs. A regular premier league fixture with the last being 2-2 in 2012 with 2 goals by Kevin Davies. Bolton unbeaten at Sunderland in the league since then as both sides dropped down the leagues,a 3-3 in the championship in 2017 and a 0-0 in league one on boxing Day 2019 as Phil Parkinson parked the bus. My happiest memory is winning 4-1 in 2008, 13 years ago. Where has that time gone? An early goal for cisse put Sunderland 1 up then goals for Taylor, Cahill and 2 from Elmander. Team news. 2 added to the squad today as brockbank and John now fit. Good news on Bakayoko now training and should be available in 2 weeks, Amaechi could be back by the end of October. Tutte is out 3/4 months and no update on Edwards. Expecting 1 change John for Gordon but wouldn't rule out gilks or baptiste coming back and I would try to make a space for Kieran Lee. 3pm ko.

No doubt swie will be camped in The Savoy and have his walk along the South Bank to London Bridge, all worked out for tomorrow night leaving plenty of time for a shandy on route and make the 7.45pm kick off.

Its one game I wish I could be over there for, its also been a good result for us when I've managed to attend there in the past.

I'm glad I was down in London. If I had enough cash I would buy a nice apartment there. It's another world down there. We stayed in a very good hotel at Earls Court. Literally, five minutes walk from Chelsea's ground.

As we arrived at the tube station on Saturday morning, the Chelsea supporters were all coming out of the station for their early game against City, which I'm pleased to say, City won.

Three great days, going to the theatre, the flower show and travelling around London on the tube. Yesterday, decided to have breakfast in Hyde Park at the side of the lake. Got some great pictures of a cheeky Heron that settled down on a riling just three feet away from us.

The only downside was waiting for a goal from our team that never arrived. Once again we created chances but couldn't put them away.

If when our injured players return, they don't manage to pick up the gauntlet and start scoring the goals, Evatt really will need to look for that elusive striker.

Regarding the goal, nobody was anywhere near their scorer. I think that we need to return to our two centre-halves that played so well last season. Baps isn't getting a chance and he certainly brought the best out of Rico. Perhaps it's time to play John and reintroduce Baps to see if that settles the defence.

Evatt says that Isy will not play tomorrow but he should be OK for Saturday. We will see if that transpires in reality, if his cut is situated in such a bad place that he can't play tomorrow, what will change before Saturday?

It should be Kachunga's big night tonight.
How should we play the tequila game, one shot for a shot, two shots for a shot on target and a double with a worm for a goal ? Finish the bottle if he helps us to a win.
Don't forget to put a pot of coffee on a timer for tomorrow morning with a plate of refried beans it will help the recovery.

Kachunga is the one summer signing I don't rate. He's not done anything yet.

Oh dear Benny is losing faith we best call the club chaplain.
Kachunga has not had a game yet while getting fit and up to speed. I hope Benny likes alphabet spaghetti he may end up eating his words tonight

I do hope that Chunga gets on the scoresheet tonight and that we have a decent win, it's about time. we had another goal-fest.

I also hope that Evatt makes other changes, we are conceding too many goals so defensive changes wouldn't go amiss. We need clean sheets to give us that edge.
