I keep seeing people lauding PEH as a top player and leader on the pitch, I fail to see it.
Today he was awful, jogging around the pitch with zero desire to close down or wrestle the initiative. Against Chelsea, the same, he failed to close down a shot for their second goal, this is either a lack of effort or a poor reading of a game, both are not good. These are basic errors costing us goals and it is not good enough.
I fail to see what he really is as a midfielder, he is not mobile enough to get around the pitch and be a dedicated DM, not technical enough to be creative or have a range of passing, and we don`t see him making last ditch tackles, nor do we see him marshalling the troops in the style of the leader we are led to believe he is.
I think some fans have over rated him, purely because he was relatively cheap and has had a handful of good games, but for me he is a bang average player and part of the problem we have in midfield.

Him and Skipp should be interchangeable. As Hojbjerg is having a shocker recently, skipp should be starting. Hojbjerg isn't great but good enough, with qualities as a DM but tries to play too advanced which his passing and positioning makes him a liability there

We should always try to upgrade on our players.
PEH can definitely be upgraded. But I would argue that we have far more pressing issues.
The difference Wanyama made to our squad was great. Especially when paired with Dembele.
Dier did well there for one season.
I agree we need a proper destroyer with either Skipp or PEH alongside

the only defence i would say is that he is knackered there is no denying he has to be. has a role to play but needs a rest.

He did a lovely dive and roll around at 1-0 that lead to us going up the pitch and making it 2-0
