On Saturday Wolves welcome Newcastle to Molineux.
Wolves go into the game on the back of a win away at Southampton whilst the Magpies gained a point with a draw at Watford.

Like Southampton, Newcastle are still to win a game this season, their 3 points coming by virtue of draws against Southampton, Leeds and Watford.
Despite this The Magpies are not a team to take lightly and in particular Wolves defenders will have to be on their guard against danger man Allan Saint-Maximin who has had a hand in 5 of their 7 goals, scoring 2 and providing 3 assists.

Wolves’ striker, Raul Jimenez finally got off the mark against Southampton with a superb solo effort assisted by keeper José Sa. It's to be hoped that we will see more of the same from him as he gets back to his best after a 9 month injury recovery.

Newcastle haven’t won at Molineux since February 2017 when the two sides met in the League Championship. Since then the sides have played 6 games in the Premier League and 1 in the Asia Trophy with Wolves winning 2 and the other 5 being draws. Interestingly, all 5 of those draws have had a 1-1 scoreline.

There was a suggestion of Mourinho in one paper today.
He would be just the job.

Must remember FFP is no longer based on transfer spend, it is based on club profits or losses. As Mike Ashley wasn’t one for spending money on his football club, the geordies made a profit of around £40m in the year ending July 2019, so they have no worries as far as FFP is concerned as far as I can see

If that's true, we should be ok in the future as our lot don't spend anything.
I expect they will change the rules so that the big boys can spend what they like and the rest can just shut up.

Villa play Wolves on Oct 16 which is a problem for Villa because their Keeper Martinez and Buendia are with the Argentina national team who have a fixture on Oct 15

We have a problem too as Jimenez will be playing against El Salvador on Thursday 14th so can't see him being back and ready to play on Saturday.

Following on from the takeover:-

Newcastle United could spend up to £190m in January without breaking Financial Fair Play rules, with Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane, 28, and France forward Kylian Mbappe, 22, "within reach". (Telegraph)

Yes but if they spent that much then they couldn't spend anymore for two years without selling, surely.?

No top top player is gonna go to Newcastle yet. They will have to build slowly.

Would certainly be amusing if they got relegated but would only delay the inevitable. I really don't get the British media's obsession with Newcastle and their fans. Apparently they deserve success more than any other club which is utter bs. Every clubs fans at every level want to see their team win trophies and play amazing football, why Newcastle should be exceptional in that regard is baffling.
