Trent's Injury, Good or Bad Thing?

Against Chelsea, watching Cancelo, Bernardo and Grealish link up and pull Azpilicueta out of position got me looking forward to the liverpool encounter and the potential match-up against Trent. Lets face it Trent is a very talented fullback and his strengths are his long passing which is close to the best in the league particularly the crossfield balls and his one on one defending is okay. But his positioning is awful and against an inform Cancelo and hopefully Bernardo drifting to the left we would have a lot of joy and if we take our chances we could at least leave with a point.

Liverpool at Anfield is a bit like Spurs away. I never expect anything irrespective of how well we play. Spurs are our bogey team and we can't seem to deal with the Anfield crowd. What annoys me is we don't seem to draw enough of these games where things go wrong. I thought we played very well against PSG. Its not an easy place to win a football match and their squad is very talented in my opinion. We controlled the game but lost again which I can accept given we are at the start of the season but we need to turn these games into draws.

I expect us to dominate posession at Anfield but not create enough clear cut opportunities. I can see what Pep is trying to do and we are certainly better in posession thi season for the first time since peak David Silva days and the press is back

But our decision making in the final third is annoying me particularly Grealish. He holds the ball well but its what he does with it once its time to let go. Just on a different wavelength to his team mates.

I hope he sits this one out as I would like to see Mahrez come in and use up the space on the left as I suspect liverpool may overload their right side this weekend to support Milner or whoever will play. Thought KDB looked better tonight and Rodri class.

Cant call the game on Sunday. Draw would be fine but I would like a win if possible.

Milner v Zaha was excellent.

Trust him to perform and do the basics well.

Let's put it this way...

If he was fit and a Man City player then he'd be the first name on your team sheet.

i really hope city play sterling. hell, let him have the full 90 minutes.

i don't think he copes very well playing for city at anfield. obviously the crowd aren't going to go easy on him, and he lets it get to him.
the only good game i can remember him having against us at anfield was last season when there wasn't any supporters in the ground.

I mean in the one before that Liverpool had to double up on him on the right with Gomez…

But yes he generally doesn’t play well there, or anywhere at the moment unless it’s in an England shirt

On current form Sterling shouldnt be starting although he has actually terrorised gomez in the last few occasions he has come up against him. Maybe Pep will have that in mind.

Grealish will start because he does the one thing Pep likes which is hug the touch line and maintain his position.

Hard to tell what team Pep will start with but it state of liverpools mid (injuries) and the return of our pressing game gives me hope.

Their front 3 is in good nick but we are just a much better defensive outfit now.

TAA? No, he’s at the perfect club for him. Walker suits us better.

Exactly that. For you, I wouldn’t change him for anyone.
