A few thoughts...

Ole out articles pushed to the weekend.

A few things.
- Ronaldo with all his goals may not have been the signing for us.
- Sancho is settling into the team. I would like to see him on the right...
- Mason looks off. He seems to be trying too hard. We can afford to put him back on the bench.
-Again the difference in midfield when Matic comes in should show the key problem in midfield. Ability to run the ball cohesively through midfield, make passes through the teams (who seem to just sit in rows of 5 and counter attack against us). He is old but at least we have a template of the midfielder we want.

-We really should be rotating more. There is no player who is supremely better than the other at the moment.

-I remain tired of Pogba. He is pointless in a midfield position, neither is he all that in those positions. he is too slow, too heavy footed to play in our midfield.

-The tempo is low, very low. All on Ole.

Here come the frothing mad mouth-breathers to defend Ole from this implied (and wholly just) criticism.

Stick to American football you nonce. If you're not happy we won you're no Utd fan. Plastic fans belong at the plastic oil clubs.

Ronaldo is a tough one. You know what you get with him, but there is no denying that Cavani offers something different in terms of shutting down the opposition and setting the example to the rest of the team. We are certainly better at pushing the opposition back when he is leading the line. It would be interesting to see Ronnie on the left, Cavani up top and Sancho on the right. Cavani can and has played wide of a front 3 in the past, so that is another option.

Sancho - Yes, there were signs in his last few outings that he is starting to settle in. He had a few decent moments last night and just needs a goal or assist to get him going. It was a shame he slipped when he had a decent chance to open his account. He lost his footing a few times - wonder if he had the wrong studs on?

Mason seems to be trying a bit too hard, although I think it was him that crossed to Cavani when he missed that headed chance? That was a great cross. With Jesse chomping at the bit we have the option to rotate, so hopefully Ole takes that opportunity. I think that Everton would be a good one for him to start.

Agree totally on Matic. Even though he is well past his prime, you can see what he brings to the team when he plays. I think that his presence just highlights why we have been so heavily linked with Rice (I think he will be our no.1 target in the summer - perhaps January). I have said in the past that Keane's passing is something that is overlooked when people discuss his influence on the team. Yet he set so many attacks up with an quick and incisive pass through the lines and into the attacking players feet. Carrick did that for us after Keane and Matic also sees those opportunities to start attacks. Some of our fans have questioned Rice's passing range, but I don't think you have to be able to pass long range to play that role. A quick pass through the lines can be just as dangerous.

Definitely scope to rotate. It is going to get interesting once Rashford is back.

Yep, agree on Pogba. As talented as he is, I am not too fussed if he leaves. If he does go then I hope we give VDB a chance to show his worth.

Yes, we need to be starting games quicker, which has been a theme for some time. It is frustrating how often we fall behind before we start playing. As per above, Cavani does help to set the temp for the team when he plays.

Yes, really.

The comment above indicates that I don’t support Ole. Not that I don’t support the team or want us to do well. It’s not even that I don’t support Ole - I’d love for him to be successful with us - but I don’t see anything in him that indicates he can regularly win trophies.
