Musings

Some points from last night's game:

De Gea looked like his old self kept everything out except for the goal.

Dalot was a real weak link. Offered nothing defensively. Silkscreen was shouting to lindelof to cover the right side when dalot went forward, but nor a good display from the lad. If he wants to play a major role then he needs to take advantage of the chance he's getting.

Lindekof and Varane were neat. What fo you guys think of this as our main cb partnership?

Tells with a goal right out off the training pitch.

Greenwood I thought was poor. He never seems to pass and didn't put in a shift. He has potential but I've noticed he has an attitude at times. Maybe Ronaldo's return has upset him.

Sancho had his best game so far. He's improving every game. He just needs game time.

Pogba was poor. Didn't offer anything and looked a bit grumpy at full time.

CR7 was poor but got the goal

Cavani was a breath of fresh air

Bruno was good. It looked like he cared

Overall the performances need to improve, that will come as the group play with each other more.

Silkscreen needs to shout louder!

I pretty much agree with this analysis though ....

I don't think the Ronaldo arrival has impacted Greenwood. He's just had a couple of below par performances. That's all.

DDG - it's wonderful to have our old goalie back.

Cavani - Incredible effort. I hope he enjoyed playing in front of a noisy OT. This player is special. The whole Ronaldo return thing has pushed Cavani under the radar a bit.

I only listened to it on the radio but it sounded like Cavani really made a difference when he came on. Seems like he has a great (and very professional) attitude as well as being a great player.

From what the commentators were saying it sounded like Sancho tried to be a bit more adventurous last night, taking players on etc. Hopefully he gets a decent run now.

Can't believe how poor Dalot's cross was. It's supposed to be his strong attribute

No, Maguire has to play for me. When he’s back, I wouldn’t be averse to trying Lindelof at RB, if Dalot and Wan-Bissaka don’t improve a bit. Seem to remember Lindelof having a couple of solid games there a while back.
