First of all I’m not doubting he still has the ability to score goals and come up with big moments in games however I said well before it even looked remotely like he would sign that I didn’t think it was a great idea to bring him back.
Despite 5 goals in 5 I stand by it. For 94 mins last night he was down right poor. It was like playing with 10 man at times. It was far worse than Martial’s display last week that he was slated for.
That being said he is here now and is a serious goal threat.
I do think Ole needs to show some bottle and rotate him more. Last night he looked 36. He can be a deadly impact sub at times but if he starts every game I think it will prove costly.
What do you think? Am I mad for thinking this about a guy who is still one of the best goalscorers on the planet? Or is he detrimental to the team at times?

Ronaldo looks a lot more scrawny than before. Like when old people get ripped and they look like they're made of leather or something. He used to have a lot more mass.

The thing is RDD that if you scratch the surface of this seemingly authoritative statement that you have posted you find that Ole has actually said the opposite and that Ronny WILL be rotated this season.
Just try and do a little reaearch first. Its not difficult to use the internet.

This is what I thought too, maybe it’s to do with age because his muscle mass prior was perfect for his athleticism.
Also in reference to OP, with Ronaldo you have to put up with that fact. It’s up to the other 10 players to perform and create chances for him to finish which he will. Would you risk Martial/Cavani/Rashford’s all round game for Ronaldo’s guaranteed goals? I wouldn’t. With his age he has to be more conservative than ever which means players around him have to do extra bit of of running as well.

Ronaldo looks in better shape than he is. He’s still a 36 year old playing in a physically taxing sport. Despite his outward appearance there’s been an obvious physical decline since he got that knee injury at Madrid.

He looks his age physically on the pitch a lot of the time, legs not what they were.
The difference between him and a lot of other players in their mids 30s, is he is still obsessed with scoring goals as he chases greatness, he wants to end up with most goals ever.
Whether that benefits us as a team is another matter. I feel he could be one of those player who scores 25 premier league goals, but actually hurts the team overall. I guess Madrid and Juve had a similar opinion.

We can't afford to play Pogba and Ronaldo in same team because when we dont have the ball neither player is really interested.
And we can't really play Cavani and Ronaldo together because we don't have the players for the system it would need.
Do feel like we've gone away from the plan and just started buying good players again.
No idea how Ole keeps all our forwards happy when Rashford is back. It's impossible.

I wouldn’t say always injured let’s be fair but yes I wouldn’t rely on him as 1st choice all season.
