10pm yesterday, the queue to my nearest petrol station was all the way to the roundabout, so about half a mile. Road are still blocked everywhere to the station in my area.
I know we all talk about panic buy etc. But I think there're many people like myself that are keeping their travel to minimum compare to normal time. So that should balance it out.
Tell me if things are better in your area.
I have booked a travel for my family in half term, but if things are the same, I might need to cancel it as I cannot drive there not knowing how we can top up petrol along the way
Petrol again

Took the missis to do the weekly shop thiis morning and as per usual she had me driving all over Oxfordshire as apparently to do it thoroughly involves several different shops.
I clocked up 55/60 miles and passed at least 10 garages. All had petrol and the longest queue was 5 or 6 cars. Had folk ignored the media scaremongering and refuelled in the usual way this mini crisis wouldn't have happened.
Funny how it coincided with tbe Labour PConf.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you are saying the tories manufactured this to coincide with the labour conf?
That reminds me, that guy signing Barbie girl in the boot has stopped. Better give him a good kick when I stop to fill up another £5 of fuel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No the opposite, the news channels stoked it up so that Labour would have a nice little country at breaking point narrative for the conference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you really believe that?

Whether thats why they did it I can't be sure but whatever the reason they must gave known that their irresponsible reporting would get the public behaving like idiots.

If Labour can control the media like you said, we're not in this mess really, I'm not talking about petrol specifically

Garages were already reporting fuel shortages before the PRA issued their press briefing.
And whilst the situation was exacerbated by press reports (and the Government stating fuel would not run out - don't panic Mr Mannering!!) the issue is a result of the HGV crisis.

The next stage of the argument now is, are people topping up what they have yet again, or are these the people that didn't fill up last week because they already had enough? Hopefully those at pumps are ones that haven't done so since the panic buying, or are those that drive long distances to work. Feel free to slow right down to hold up those that do 15mph over the speed limits so that they may save there fuel a bit
