ole

getting to the point now where i hope he walks.

the guy is an absolute legend at the club and the abuse he gets on here from some people is pretty shocking.

his goal against Bayern in 99 will go down in history as one of the greatest goals scored by any utd player, yet some people on here have very short memories meaning his legacy will only end up being as a failed manager to some.

some feel he has done a decent enough job and he deserves more time, others feel like myself that he has done a decent job in rebuilding the squad in terms of players and morale within old trafford but is unlikely to be the one to take us to the next level.

its a shame some feel the need to hurl abuse in his direction, forgetting what he did for the club in the past just because he isnt a top class manager... the guy deserves better than that from some of our so called fans.

If you'd have kept Moyes for as long as Ole has had, I reckon he'd have won something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not quite so sure...think he lost respect from pretty much everyone in the dressing room when telling Rio and Vidic to watch videos of Jagielka defending... pretty hard to come back from that
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That has been confirmed by Rio himself as being a myth though to be fair...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
to be fair even though Moyes was on a hiding to nothing after replacing fergie and i didnt think he was the guy for the job i always backed him, as i did with LVG.

unlike quite a few on here ( which isnt a knock) ive lived through midtable seasons where the only bit of real excitement was the odd cup run.

quite a few have only ever known success under fergie and what has happened post fergie...but ive always backed the team and manager while he has been in the position... with the exception being Jose

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don’t think anyone is really knocking Ole for the lack of success on its own. It’s the mix of terrible football with a lack of success.

People can handle great football with no success or terrible football with success (or ideally great football with success).

But when there is a lack of both it’s hard to warm to the appointment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
thats the problem... they cant.

if we played breathtaking football week after week and didnt win anything for 5 years people would be calling for the head of whoever was in charge.. you know that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps after 5 years. It would help if we had 5 weeks of breathtaking football rather than coming out of home games against an average Everton side feeling lucky we didn’t lose after making the same mistakes we’ve been making throughout Oles tenure
----------------------------------------------------------------------
the problem is we do not have the players in the centre of the park to play that kind of football week in and week out.

as much as we would all love to see it football is a results game first and foremost.

we are stuck with Mcfred because we have to play both to cover for each others deficiencies.
Matic doesnt have the legs to play there on a regular basis either.

i dont think for one minute Ole doesnt see it as a problem area and had west ham not wanted a crazy fee for rice i think he would have been signed in the summer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ultimately after 3 years at the club and half a billion spent if he hasn’t addressed such an obvious issue than it’ll deservedly cost him his job.

not always that simple young Robert... lets not forget we had Ed doing the negotiating during most of ole's time... just because none were signed doesnt mean they werent requested.

People do have short memories.

That goal against Bayern was only 22 years ago.

Our resident idiot OP playing the victim card as usual. Nobody is personally abusing Ole. Where are you pulling it out of? People only want him gone because he is inept and has taken us backwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He hasn't taken us backwards
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has. We got knocked out of CL last year. Still not guaranteed to qualify. PL positions mean fack all as long as you are finishing 20 pts below the champions. Jose and LVG won trophies for us in shorter stints. Good will and feel good factor counts for fack all if you don't win trophies. We have become a laughing stock in football and our rivals mockingly want Ole to be given 6 year contracts.

We've had plenty of time and money to buy a much needed CM. Last summer we bought a back up ACM and 2 youth RWs for £55m, the summer before that we spent £50m on AWB!?

Also Ole won't walk, and he shouldn't have to. He's been hired and recently given a 3 year extention. It's up to the club to get rid if he isn't good enough.

Moyes didn't help himself of the behind the scene stuff is even halfway true.

But I think with the departure of SAF and the rebuild that was required he didn't get enough time.

I think that any manager preceding SAF was going to fail unless given time. The squad won the title but I honestly don't think it was the players, it was the SAF effect and a rebuild was always needed.

Moyes early decisions of getting rid of the leadership of guys like Rio and evra was him shooting himself in the foot imo. But I do think given the investment and time we have seen since him would have helped him a lot.

Moyes was out of his depth but so too was Woodward which made things much worse. Probably would have improved given time but not to the level we require.
